i still have a couple of things i mentions awhile back that you haven't addressed.

1. custom sounds for the rightclick context menus, so not just the nextstart menu has sounds. preferably custom sounds to match the visual effect the user is using. like in my case the explosion effect. or maybe simply point the user at a site that has a good selection of .wav files.

2. the ability to rightclick on a tab and choose open folder.

3. the ability to select multiple items in a tab for moving or copying.

4. the ability to remove system folders, and system utilities icons from the workshelf desktop tab. for instance in my case i have administrative tools on nexus, if i need control panel i open administrative tools and click the all control panel items breadcrumb, so i don't have a need for control panel on workshelf. my documents are on another drive and i have them on nexus, so i don't need libraries or my user folder on workshelf. computer is also on nexus, so no need for it on workshelf. same with network. recycler is fine i empty it from the one i'm closes to on the screen. hide / show icons, and display properties on the shelf i have never even used. and home group i have never use in windows or on workshelf.

thanks in advance for your feedback

Well, yeah, I'm actually not sure why I didn't add sounds to context menus, lol

Err, Google is your friend. Want me to chew your food for you too?

Just joking, don't take this the wrong way. :D

Not a bad idea. But you mean right clicking the tab header itself, right?

Yeah, that has been long overdue.

Not going to happen. Folder type tabs are 'windows' into those folders, even when those folders are 'virtual', such as the Control Panel tab. You can't remove items from Explorer's Control Panel window, either, nor add new items to it.

O.K., actuall looks pretty good

1. probably an honest oversight on your part, or in one build or another rightclick menu sounds might have caused a problem.
1-A. no i won't take it the wrong way. i just figured you might have some links some of us haven't found yet.
2. yes i meant the tab header. my bad.
3. simply cool.
4. so you draw these from the explorer navigation pane instead of the desktop?
the reason i ask is that i have tweaks for hiding them on the desktop if i ever decide to show the desktop icons, but even if i do that they still show on the desktop tab. perhaps that's just because they are hidden and not removed. i guess i could simply delete the desktop tab, since i have all of the items from it that i do use on nexus.

AND 5. i have been running an experiment to see between nextstart, nexus, and workshelf if i could get to everything i want without the navigation pane in an attempt to steal back screen space, and it has been a resounding success. i can tell you for a fact that when i tried this in the past with stardock products i ended up restoring the navigation pane.

thanks for the quick feed back, and as always fantastic job on all the winstep applications. thanks again

In my opinion, should be improved a bit aspect of the system tray icons, hide or minimize on the dock by pressing the arrow button. in short, a better control of system tray icons on the dock

Can sound crazy but would be amazing to minimize the taskbar into the dock, and then restore when needed/wanted.

I was just thinking about this cause I don't use the taskbar as the Dock give me the functionality I need most part of the time.

just thought of one more item. a per theme settings backup. i have the venom1 theme and all the colors altered to match the main theme i am running, but if i switch winstep themes to test a new one i found and then switch back i have to reset the colors to what i had. it would be nice to backup my settings per theme and just store those with the themes.

Hey, I just had a couple of ideas... don't know how easy they are to make, but still...

a. Is it possible to have more effects for docks and shelves appearing and disappearing? Like, instead of just glide in/out, you could have "beaming in/out" or gliding lengthwise (like, a top shelf would slide left to right or rtl), fading in/out, burning in/out (width or length-wise), appearing with an alpha-channel/luminance blend, etc.

b. Is it possible to make a shelf or dock show a reflection of the mouse cursor (obviously with an x-y offset, which could be variable according to position too ;) and maybe some blur or gamma offset or alpha-channel offset)? Actually, that would be awesome, but I don't know how feasible it is. You could give it a shot, though...

c. Don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I'd like the ability to skin the hover outline of an icon (obviously without any effects applied). Like, with an overlay image instead of a rounded-rectangle?

Yeah, so, that's it for now.
Keep up the good work!

...oh, and one more:

d. Don't you think there should be a setting for those damn pop-up balloons to disappear after a while (user-defined delay)?

good a second vote for this. i would also ad or i should say re-ad a way to color them to match the theme you're using, and a way to change the font size and color.

Sorry, been sleeping too little lately trying to get this damn release out the door. What exactly is the problem? The balloon goes away as soon as you mouse away from the icon.

What are you guys going to ask me for next? A delay to auto-hide dock labels? lol

Don't know if this was already mentioned as the thread is really long, but it would be killer to be able to have definable rows/lines in sub-docks. Like a setting 'new row after NNN shortcuts' or something like that. :-)

More of a wish for making the theme... , the ability to make the menu coming off the start button different from the context menus, or is there a way to do this already?.

agree with this one. as i said before if you look at the windows customization sites you will see some really cool start menus in the themes out there.

1) Command Line Backup - I have a script that I run every morning which backups all the settings for various programs and this is one of the few I'm lacking.

2)

[lost count] Add an option of auto spacing for the icons on the shelf, so that the text can fit in the defined number of lines. Example, if I define 1 line of text per icon, maybe the icon spacing can be set to [auto] to make text always visible.

It is so annoying for a line wrap right in the middle of a word. Also annoying to only allow for two lines of text. Feels like I'm trapped in the 8 character DOS days.

3) Select a Default Tab when dock opens

4) Ability to control the "Item Separator" width. The separators take up an unreasonable amount of space.
