I have the registered version of Nexus-Ultimate v11.02.0949. I am running it on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit machine. Even tho it does work pretty well...I do have a lot of crashes and lock-ups due to running it. Usually it is when the program is just starting or trying to check for updates. It will just sit there with a Nexus dialog window and do nothing.

Basically what I am asking is, are there known problems running this on a Windows 7 64Bit system ?? I really like Nexus the best out of all the other "dock" applications ... and I have tried them ALL.

Thanks for any info. And I am hoping to get into the beta forum soon ( waiting still on addmins )

No known issues, in fact, Winstep applications are developed on a Windows 7 64 bit system.

This looks like something system-specific (and, being random, it will be a nightmare to determine the cause of the problem). When Nexus hangs again, you might want to try using SysInternal's (now part of Microsoft) Process Monitor to figure out what it's doing and then report back.

Another likely possible culprit would be your AV software. Which one are you running?

Right you are. I have traced it down to something conflicting with My anti-virus software. I run the latest F-Secure Internet Security 2011 10.51 build 106. I also use their firewall option. I have set it up to allow anything from your program to get through and I am not getting any firewall blocks or virus alerts, but I actually have to unload F-Secure then load/run Nexus then restart F-Secure and that usually will work, but not 100% of the time. F-secure never crashes tho ... only Nexus will lock up when they conflict.

Not sure what to do ... I just bought F-Secure with a 3 year license :(

Hmmm...

Try downloading Process Monitor, as I suggested, to monitor what Nexus is doing when it freezes due to F-Secure. That might give us a clue. Also, check F-Secure logs to see if you find something related to Nexus.

I am off for now ... but I will do that and report back tomorrow night after work.

Thanks

You're too quick. I edited the message in the mean time to include another suggestion, lol

Ok I don't know how or why, but today nothing is crashing at all. I turned off F-Secure for a while but now have it back on and there are no conflicts after 10 hours of stress testing both apps. *shrug*

I will keep you updated if things change.
