According to the not wonderful instructions that IE posted I should be able to remove the Beta IE7 and go back to IE6.

Failing that - I need to disable their security settings. I have been through just about everything I can find to no avail. Meanwhile - it is preventing me from opening or sending email from a secure site. This is not fun. Because of work restrictions - I don't have a choice other than to use IE.

I am sure that part of the issue may also be the cross platform problems between the english IE7beta and my german language based home computer (have been there before - somethings just don't work the same)

any suggestions would be appreciated.

-Holly

There are some things that won't work properly because of properietary issues involving ActiveX. Get's harder when there's corporate restrictions in place. Good, bad or indiiferent that's the way it is.

Firefox has an addon called IETab, which mimics IE in Firefox.

I have not been blocked on any website which previously would only work with IE.

I realize this is a Very Late post but for future references I thought some or most of you might find good use for this program which is FreeWare and came out in Aug. 25, 2004.

It is only 459K and I use it all the time.

URL corrected:

http://www.snapfiles.com/

there is a search at the top right which you can search for : pikybasket

this URL has been changed also. Don't know if it will get you to the freeware section or not. there is no way I can verify it as it auto signs me in. Sorry for the bad URL.

this url is going to the Author's page just in case the other URL's don't work.

Just a Little Goodie I ran across 2 years ago. Still works with Windows XP Pro and Home editions and Windows 98!!

As for as IE7 goes. I installed it on my computer a few months back right after it came out. I uninstalled it about 2 hours after the install. Well, not really. I searched for IE6 in its folder and Ran it manually then made it my default Browser. Which I guess took the Security off of IE7. I was able to Uninstall IE7 and leaving IE6 in place. I went a step further and cleaned out my Win ini file with System Mechanic 5 then Defrag my hard drive. I feel like I got really Lucky on getting Rid of IE7. My Son did basically the same thing to get rid of his IE7 and went back to IE6!!

Since then we have shot down IE6 and started using Opera and Firefox which are Much Better Browsers. I won't even try another browser if it was build with an IE Engine.

Since the URL is from SnapFiles Pro all I get is their member logon
page and whatnot.
You'll have to give us the name of the program instead or a regular
SnapFiles (non Pro) URL.

Now that's the kind of program I was wishing for when I needed
to gather up files from various locations (and didn't have a dual-pane
file manager around).
Much better than having two explorer windows open and dragging/dropping.

Thanks for the pointers.
Marc

P.S. Their RecentX program seems pretty nifty, too.
