The poll in this topic is now working properly, so please feel free to re-cast your votes. :D

You can choose the two modules you would like the most from the list in the poll.

Okay, I feel I have to explain my votes as well as casting them, since that may be more helpful.
The virtual desktop manager could be very interesting, even though at the moment I'm not using any such thing. I may grow to like it, though.
The hard disk thingie is something I want, but it has to be combined with the "Drives" shelf, so that all drives on the system are shown (including newly connected USB drives). I think you know that already.
Internet search is not really useful for me, since I always have a few firefox windows open all the time.
Run prompt... well, not that important, [Ctrl]+[Esc] and then you type away...
Media player/winamp/etc control... again... not *that* important...
Calendar could be nice to have... but low on the priority scale.
Battery metre... the same as calendar... nice but low priority.
Alarms to the clock, now that's interesting. Check "Citrus Alarm Clock" for ideas.
RSS reader... don't use that anyway, so there...

By the way, what language are you using to develop Nexus? And also, is there any possibility of "opening up" the code with an SDK so that users (we) can create modules?
I hope I didn't bore you with my chatter.

this isn't a module but rather what i believe is a fix, i noticed when i increased the transparency in workshelf the workshelf tabs also became more transparent. i would like to be able to keep the tabs from becoming transparent at all.

also i would like to give you a big thumbs up on the vertical workshelf. i can think of half a dozen things that for me would work better on a vertical shelf than a horizontal shelf.

i do have one question, do we have or are we going to get the ability to have multiple workshelfs?

as always fantastic work, thanks again for always being on top of things

We will, eventually. Check my post on the Beta Forum.

Hello,

I voted for HDD drive meter and reminder/scheduler. However I like also other items from your list e.g. battery meter. Because Xtreme is fantastic Windows desktop replacement, So I think potential replacement of Windows scheduler could be also more flexible and powerful than original. Additional it could be combined with calendar.
One question about potential HDD module:
Is this possible add some SMART functionality to this module?

Best regards,
Janusz

The calendar please. O can take or leave the others but the calendar would be awesome.

And tho it was not an options, how about a small frame that you can program with your favorite photos and images.

Hi Jorge, yeah I'm pretty sure you know what i voted for  . VDM #1 and alarms in the clock .
I am also fairly certain that if I posted a video about how i use the VDMs a lot more ppl would be interested. I would be interested to find out how ppl here witch between their programs too. all of us use our computer in vastly different manners in regards to desktop management and I dont know anyone personally who uses it other than how jobs or gates wants us too lol. That might be another thread to post this in though. I take it the descent was as pleasant as the ascent Yesterday??
hehe

I'd like animated wallpaper functionality added (for Windows 7), please (in WorkShelf, or any other part of the Winstep Xtreme bundle).

For the one-click search:

it would be possible some thematic predefined text for it.

as I often search for words in one theme like "english grammar" or
e.g. "actionscript 3" or "php"

so a quick dropdown list of words would also be good.

I voted for the HDD and calendar, but I think it would be really helpful if a module could be made that displays temperatures, like HWMonitor. At the moment I have CPU-Z, HWMonitor and GPU-Z all set up on my dock. I'm also running Speedfan in my system tray purely for temperatures. However, Speedfan doesn't display GPU temps, and it would be helpful to have CPU, System, HDD and GPU temps on display at all times, just in case a fan dies or something. It would also be ideal for gamers, too.

That will never happen, unless Winstep starts using data provided by AIDA64, for instance.

It's not easy making an application that reads temperatures, etc..., because there is no standard way of doing it, there are lots of different chipsets, each hardware vendor has their own way of doing things which often change with each new hardware generation, etc...

Even SMART disk temperatures are not normalized and depend on the hardware vendor too!

That's why you have programs dedicated to doing this sort of thing.

One solution for this would be to, as I said above, 'team up' with AIDA64, since AIDA has a mechanism to pass sensor data into 3rd party applications. Of course, this would mean you would have to pay for *both* Winstep and AIDA64.

Hi there,

I know skagon already asked this question, but there were no answer yet.
Are there any plans to release some kind of SDK or a Tool or Documentation so we can create Modules by ourselves?
I've seen, for example, a plugin for Rainmeter, that uses CoreTemp to show CPU-Temperatures and stuff.
Some skilled programmers out there would maybe create some outstanding Modules for WorkShelf.
(Btw. I am a profesional programmer myself :) )
