Hi,

I am getting a lot of problems with Winstep freezing. It will freeze for several minutes and then work normally again. I am running WinXP Pro. Has anyone else had this problem.

Thanks,

Jetstream

I have never experienced this issue on Seven. However, could you give more details on that?
Like it happens when you startup your pc, or when you open/close some programs... when you're working on some programs, or when the PC is idle... we can't figure out where the problem could by just knowing "it freezes"...

I doesn't seem to happen when any particular program is running but randomly. Today it happened when I was adding a shortcut to the shelf. I then had to wait a couple minutes for it to unfreeze itself.

ok your system specs are more than capable of handling the various features of winstep. please do me a favor bring up task manager, go to the process tab, and click on the memory tab. see if anything is using more memory than it should.

Apparently random behaviors are never random. It happens because something makes it happen.

Could you pay more attention to what you're trying to do when it freezes, and say maybe a general situation when it happens? Something like "it happens most when I move/drag shortcut to/from the dock" or whatever... that could be helpful.

Also, we should know from you if you're using any customization software, especially softwares like WindowBlinds (usually they don't cause problems, but there's the first time for all of them).

Also, are you using the "fast system tray updating" feature?
