FAQ states:
Quote:
Q) How do I make shortcuts to folders in the Shelf and docks open in a menu instead of a window?
A) There are two ways ... or you can change the default left click behavior for folder shortcuts by enabling the 'Always open folders as menus' setting in the Misc.Advanced dialog of the Advanced tab in Workshelf Preferences.

Where to find this WS > Prefs > Advanced > Misc dialog? 'My' dialog looks like this:

Please enlighten me.

Well, using the first method stated
Quote:
…you can either left click the folder shortcut in a dock or Shelf and hold (i.e.; not let go of the left mouse button) for half a second, which will pop up a menu displaying the folder contents, …

I managed to create what I want:

To edit the list I have added a shortcut to the folder itself...
This method however seems not to be that reliable - at least not with my Wacom tablet. Tapping and waiting often does nothing or it opens the folder as window. Maybe I must practice more.
Unfortunately it is not possible to add such an item to a Shelf - but for the most used items i have a dock anyhow.

Doh! Sorry, that FAQ needs to be updated (taking care of it now).

Look in the Behavior tab of the Dock or Shelf Properties dialogs.

Super, this works reliable also with my tablet-pen. The other method is very sensitive to the setting of double-click distance etc.
