i would like to know why workshelf is still trying to access the internet when in both it's and nextstart's preference advance tabs the only thing checked is "use internet explorer proxy settings", everything else is unchecked.

NextSTART will NEVER try to access the Internet, only WorkShelf and the Update Manager need to do that.

The only reason NextSTART has those Internet settings is to control the Update Manager.

Anyway, that 10.0.0.2 IP address is a private address, probably the address of your router. My guess is that you have an item on your NextSTART menu that resides somewhere else on your LAN, or something like that.

you mean say a systray icon for a wifi printer? 10.0.0.2 is actually my comp on the network. one other thing while i'm at it workshelf is also making zonealarm popup that message, and there is nothing on workshelf or nexus that is not local to my comp only.
