Hi Jorge. Is it possible to pin a program to the Context Menu of the Recycle Bin module?

I was hoping that if I were to pin CCleaner to it that when I empty the Recycle Bin using CCleaner that the lid would close as it does when I empty it the normal way by right-clicking as in the video.

Most of the time even when I restart Xtreme several times the lid still will not close if I use CCleaner. Only restarting the PC will close the lid.

Is this issue a function of the theme itself rather than Xtreme?

actually it's a ccleaner problem. it cleans out the recycler without reporting to xtreme that it has been emptied. i normally empty the recycler then run ccleaner.

Yeah, my first inclination was that was the case. This is the reason I'm hoping if I pin CCleaner to the Context Menu of the Recycle Bin module, it will report it to Xtreme.

i wonder how hard it would be for to do what you're asking or maybe set it up when you rightclick and empty the recycler for it to autorun a pinned app. i'm sure there must be a script to make ccleaner autorun.

Why not reporting the issue directly to Ccleaner devs? They update the software quite often, and if they receive some reports there are good chances they'll fix it soon.

Btw don't use it, at least the registry cleaner. Good for some general cleaning, but it's totally useless, if not even dangerous, to clean registry file. :)

Most of the cleaner app does not report it. R-wipe, & system ninja after cleaning also, make the bin module thing its still full.

The reason I haven't done that is because I figure it might be more feasible for the adjustment to be made in Winstep to allow CCleaner and other similar programs to be pinned to Recycle Bin themes. It's less likely that CCleaner will do that for one program. GOTHICDEATH checked a couple of other like programs with the same result which further makes my point. That means that every like program would have to be contacted to make a change.

Years ago (before I knew about Winstep Xtreme) I requested a change that would allow a Microsoft theme's sound effect to be heard when the Recycle Bin is emptied via CCleaner. I'm still waiting.

Hmmmmmm, never heard anyone complain that it damaged their PC. They do give the option to save the settings before anything is deleted.

you can do your registry as long as you do it by hand, NEVER allow a program to autoclean the registry. most are to aggressive about what they want to remove.

That's strange man :P cause IT forums are always full of helping requests about "this's not working anymore" et simila. The point is that registry cleaners delete some entries that system or installed softwares may need in certain conditions that may not be there in everyday-use and often, once the damage is done, it's very hard to correlate the problem to the registry cleaning you did 1 month ago so to speak. You can even have done a backup, but conditions may have changed meanwhile.
Moreover, if you check the what's-new of those registry cleaners, you'll find out they're plenty of horrible voices like "improved Windows [version] compatibility" that make you wonder on how they worked before... it's like saying: "now we understood we don't have to remove x entries cause screws up y"

On the other side, having a clean & small & compact registry is very... useless!
You don't get any performance boost from deleting few bytes from there, and dead references just stay dead, not messing with anything.

All in all, registry cleaners are simply useless, if not dangerous. They just play on the psychological thing of "wow clean is good"

Of course all IMHO with a bit of knowledge and experience ;)
