i noticed that it ask "how often would you like to update weather conditions?". it should be "when would you like to update weather conditions?". also i don't get anything for portland, portland international airport, but i do for portland, portland-hilsboro airport. the difference between the two can be as much as 8f.

o.k. i'm running the darth3 theme which has the weather for 5 days. says n/a for each day when i have portland international airport, but shows the forecast for all five days when i choose portland-hilsboro airport. now i switched to the hand drawn theme which only shows the current day on the weather module and selecting the portland, portland international airport shows the information for the current day. so looks like some locations will not show a 5 day forecast.

Weather locations have either a METAR code, a Weather.com code, or both.

METAR is based on airport data as reported by airports all over the world to NOOA and provides very detailed *current* weather information, but no weather forecast.

Weather.com can provide both current conditions *and* weather forecast, but current conditions are not as detailed as those provided by METAR.

So, when a location only has a METAR code associated to it, weather forecast will always appear as N/A (guess this is what was happening to you).

When a location only has a Weather.com code associated to it, you will get both current conditions and the forecast, but the current conditions will not be as well detailed.

The best are locations with both a METAR and a Weather.com code, since when that happens the Winstep application will retrieve very detailed current conditions from NOOA and the forecast from Weather.com, Google or MSN.

Since METAR codes are always associated to (and information retrieved from) airports, there are a lot less locations with a METAR code (although they are still in the thousands) than there are with a Weather.com code.

Most locations that have a METAR code will also have a Weather.com code, but not all, in which case you can usually chose a nearby location that features a Weather.com code in order to retrieve current and forecast conditions.

The problem is that the desktop Weather module in *some* themes (mostly those made by WebGizmos, and I did warn him about it at the time) only show the 5 day forecast and not the icon for current conditions. This is a mistake, because the first icon in the forecast is NOT current conditions, but what the weather will likely be during the night of that first day.
