Hi there. On Saturday morning, I purchased a copy of Winstep Extreme. When I hadn't received the licence code and downloading instructions by Monday, I checked my bank account (the purchase had gone through) and tried e-mailing Winstep and BMT Micro. I have yet to hear anything ... and am starting to wonder if there is a problem?...?

If things are just slow, that's fine ... but I am anxious to install and start using Winstep. Is there anything I should do?

Corkymcg,

I am in the same boat, I purchased the winstep extreme before the weekend and never heard a word, then sent a couple of emails to support, and still no reply or any word.

Guys, I have to inform you (and everyone else interested) that Jorge -- the creator of this marvelous programme and the only one that can issue licenses -- has had a minor accident and broken his leg. Apart from that, he's fine; it just might take a little longer than the usual 48 hours for you to get your licenses.
Have a little patience.

For the record, I'm not an employee or anything, just a plain user, like you.

Cheers!

Guys, I do understand your disbelief. However, I've seen photos and his friends' wishes for quick recovery, so... I'm pretty sure he didn't put his leg into a cast, just to get a few weeks' extra bed time.

Now, what you want to believe, is up to you.

CHUCKYSCHILD, are you saying that Jorge has a history of not sending out registration info out to people who have purchased his products? Or, did I mis-understand what you said? It's been five days now since I've paid (and the money left my bank account) and this lack of response is starting to get frustrating, and I'm starting to wonder if this is a scam.

I am not sure what I should do now? Should I wait it out for another day or two? Should I just give up and try to get my $40 back?

corkymcg, there have been a couple of instances when it's taken a lot longer than the 48 hours for people to get their product key. now that being said i trust skagon if he says jorge is injured i believe him. now i know it's just his leg, but if it were me i'd take at least a few days and do nothing. my suggestion at this point is just email and pm again and give jorge a few days.

Hi i have the same problem i bought it 5 days ago and like so many others i have sent a couple of emails after the first 48 hours but still haven't gotten a reply i even tried sending a message directly here on the forum with the same outcome. but the lack of info about jorge breaking his leg has probably upset a few people besides me who are eagerly awaiting their License since that is what we are paying for.

@Skagon: I believe you. You said previously that you found his FB page (I couldn't for some reason) so I believe you when you say you saw pictures and friends wishing-well. But that's not the point.

Does he fucking need his legs to type? Is he so much in the doldrums that he can't afford a cheap laptop with those pen thingys for wireless access? He doesn't own a smartphone? Even if he is in a hospital bed, he can't be bothered to put aside one hour or two to sort out urgent, should have been done a month ago, business?

This is as unprofessional as it can get. Daily, people are buying his products, and some make renewals. They all require keys. He says he does this because he enjoys it. Fair enough, we all seek to work in things we enjoy, and we do it better because of it. However he is running a business, he collects money from it therefore it is a business. And in a business you are expected to honor your commitments to costumers, partners, colleagues.

I took an interest in this way back because he is Portuguese. The sad part is that he proved, and is proving to me beyond a reasonable doubt, a notion I've been toying with for some time: If you see a Portuguese drowning, don't volunteer an oar to help him climb back to the boat; instead, hit him in the head with it, to make him drown faster and stop being a nuisance.

Xtreme should go freeware because it only exists for the enjoyment of the developer, after he figures how to refund all of those that paid and got no service.

Interesting how you should put it that way. Even more interesting is your somersault (a.k.a. 180°), after essentially trying to become the "voice" of Jorge or a semi-official representative, now you're, as you put it, hitting him on the head.

I have no answer to your questions (nor is it my place to have any).
However, I have to point out that what I saw was a cast from his hip down to his ankle. I don't know how badly he's hurt or what kind of pain-killers he's on (which could explain to an extent why he's not doing anything).
The only thing I do know, which he told me himself, is that he'll be able to get out of bed in six (6) weeks.

Now, what he wants to do or what he *can* do, is an entirely different discussion and I will not be part of such theoretical speculation.

i've had my hip broken, i opted out of pain killers cause i won't put the garbage in my body. i can tell you the pain is out of this world. i hope it's not that bad for him.

@Skagon

I understand you have limited logical and verbal ability possibly aggravated by excessive 420 consumption that clearly left permanent damage.

So I'll write in short sentences. About this:
skagon wrote:

How many times do you need to be told that I was not sent as a messenger, that I did not purport to be a messenger, nor any sort of representative, and if I gave you a few definite sentences those were produced to give Jorge's customers basic assurances?

Those assurances were that problems would be addressed and solved as soon as possible.

So, here you have my second motivation and why I got into this thread in the first place:
skagon wrote:

If you read the other thread (and you must have because you commented on it) you will notice that I told Cathus that his problem would be solved, while asking him to exercise a bit of patience. I, and that means me, p-e-r-s-o-n-a-l-l-y v-o-u-c-h-e-d f-o-r J-o-r-g-e.

I know in no uncertain terms that for you and in your planet, this matters absolutely nothing. You throw words in, and just as easily, pull them back. It's all lost in the fog the other guy debating you has in his head anyway, and indeed confusing the stupid can be said to have been invented in Greece.

Our previous discussion (the one Jorge locked) already told me everything I ever need to know about you and ChuckysChild. I was unsure about Jorge. Not anymore.
