I wish to upgrade to windows 8.1, and winstep is already in my windows 8. Update as it is or i have to unnistall winstep before update windows 8.1. Thanks.

you should be just fine updating to 8.1 without uninstalling winstep.

Like chucky said, you *should* be fine just updating without uninstalling.
I only say "should" because I keep as far away from Win8 as I possibly can, so I don't have any experience with it (nor do I want to).

Hear, hear! You have no idea the problems I've had trying to educate certain people about the ills of Win8. Did they listen?...of course not. Now after using it for a while, all of them are trying to get rid of their pc's (without taking a total loss) but can't.

i have said it more times than i can possibly count when you have issues with the look and feel of a os look to the theming community. there are apps out there now to fix just about everything wrong with windows 8 and 8.1, including apps so you land on the desktop when starting up instead of landing on metro. i am planning in the next few weeks on dual booting both 7 and 8.1 and slowly customizing 8.1 to have the best of itself and win 7. checkout deviantart, virtualcustoms, tweaktown, etc.....
