1) another sub-dock is opened, or
2) it is explicitly closed.

To be implemented as an optional behavior.

Thanks, for NeXuS Ultimate and for considering this wish,

I am specifically interested in having an open sub-dock still open when I re-boot the host upon which NeXuS Ultimate is running.

Again ... Thanks for NeXuS Ultimate and for reading this wish,

Personally I'd rather Winstep doesn't fall into the trap of trying to do too much, like so many other companies before you. Simply put: don't try and reinvent Windows.

Agreed, and Emerge Desktop already reinvented Windows for me, lol. Been using it since 2008 back on XP, and never looked back (and still stuck with it even after I migrated to Win7 64bit). The only thing I want is a good looking, good working, glitch-minimal Dock. Been using Rocket Dock, and I think it's great... but it has these rather unfortunate glitches like forgetting Z layer settings and when I reboot my machine, it has this nasty habit of forgetting the icon and folder settings for some of my stack docklets so I wind up having to manually fix it.

If you haven't already spent some time looking at it, I would recommend spending some time poking around in RocketDock and then copying their features, abilities and simplicity. Unfortunately I don't think PunkSoftware even still does work on RD, the last version was 1.3.5 - wish they still did updates.

Yeah, thanks for just deleting my post, Chuck.
Why am I not allowed to post suggestions but everyone else is?

Rocket Dock's stack Docklet just looks cleaner, that's not trying to advertise for RD, that's trying to give a suggestion for something to add. And yes, Nexus has a way to have stack docklets, but it keeps displaying them as just one long tube, I just want it to be a box that I can define how many icons across I want it to be. I don't see how me posting a screenshot of my Desktop is against the rules just because I'm using Emerge and Rocketdock. I would use Nexus, but imo as it is right now it's glitchy, crashes often and could benefit from some streamlining.

And I want something better than RD, that's why
I'd like to see Nexus get better...

i have no idea what you're talking about. forst i cannot remove post muchless images that i didn't posy or make. if post or images of your were removed i'm pretty sure it's because you're using a cracked version of winstep and has nothing to do with emerge desktop.

Dude, relax! Jeez...
Firstly, it was me, not Chucky. Secondly, I didn't delete it, I **MOVED** it to a new thread, and the reasons for that will be obvious once you take the time and read the reply I posted yesterday for you.
Finally, I have no idea why you would attack Chucky -- or anyone else for that matter.

I understand what you're saying, and like I posted in your other post (in its new thread), something like that is at the very top of the "to do" list.
For the time being, there's a stand-alone "bubble" applet which you can use, but I can't remember now how it's called. Something like "stacks"???
You can use that to create your bubbles and then move the shortcuts in the dock. I know, kind of "round-about" way to do it, but... let's just see it as a stop-gap measure.

skagon sounds like what i was asking for before. UoPoko another suggestion i can make for you is to create a folder of the shortcuts you want, hide it somewhere and add a shortcut to that folder to your dock. my setup is win 7 with the explorer pane off, most of the folder that i want quick access to are in tabs on workshelf, my most used programs have shortcuts in a folder called desktop shortcuts which is on nexus. i have all my desktop icons hidden cause i like a clean desktop. also on my downloads drive i have a folder for everything i download that isn't a torrent, and i have placed a shortcut to that on nexus as well. my nexus dock are in the following order:

recycler
TND's Docs(not located on c)
control panel
computer
outlook
chrome
internet explorer
cyberfox
desktop downloads
desktop shortcuts

another great little app you might be interested in is called clover. current version 3.0.406.0.

Found it: Standalone Stack

Chucky, why the hell are you making a *folder* of shortcuts on disk and then make an icon of that folder in the dock???
You can just make it a sub-dock and have all the shortcuts in there, or even a new tab in the Shelf, with your "most used". I mean, why click on an icon in a dock, only to get an explorer window open and *then* click on the shortcut you want?
Anyway... to each their own...

i hate the way subdocks layout the icons in a single row. i have asked about adding a feature to tell a dock or subdock how many icons across and down. skagon as far as workshelf you have to remember i basically use it for quick folder access, and not quick program access. program access is all from nexus. the main reason i have a program shortcuts folder(desktop shortcuts) is the folder is located on my downloads drive, so when i reinstall windows, and winstep that shortcut is already on nexus and functional. just like all of my workshelf tabs are preset cause my drive letters never change. the plus side of having the desktop shorcuts folder on the downloads drive is that when i reinstall a program that i've put a shortcut in that folder for the shortcut is auto-reassociated with it's program. the other reason i have the desktop shortcuts folder is so i have quick access to my most used programs rather than going to the windows or nextstart start menu for it. as i said before i don't show icons on my desktop. instead i have "restore previous folder windows at logon" enabled. i use clover to have the desktop shortcuts, desktop downloads, and bittorrent folders open in one tabbed explorer window that i always leave open.
