Actually, and to answer both of you, there is no reason nor guarantee that 'Clover' will be storing its 'bookmarks' as physical shortcuts or files or folders or whatever. I'm not saying it's not, what I'm saying is that it's equally possible that the programmers have chosen to store the bookmarks in some other way, like, say, inside a plain text file (like an .ini or .txt), some registry key, or shortcuts in some directory which you cannot see.

Given that the Windows search facility after XP sucks big time, I'd get a *real* search tool -- personally I'm using one called "FileSeek" -- and use that to search the entire drive for those files (remember to run as admin, so it can access the protected system directories). If there's nothing, launch RegEdit and search for the links there. For better chances, I'd make a directory with some really weird name, preferably one word, bookmark it and then search for occurrences of that weird word.

Alternatively, you could get some process monitor and have it log all disk and registry accesses, and then make a new bookmark. In the log, you should catch the programme writing the relevant data *somewhere*. ;)

Skagon, I ran a search with FileSeek and eventually had to stop it because it was still running 45 mins later and most of the files it found was from months and years earlier. I installed Clover less than two weeks ago.

Initially it found two files and later I looked at the bottom of the window and it said it only found two.

Those two including the tons of others it found all had red X's and said something along the lines of them being invalid. Is there anything that can be done about that? If not, I guess I'll have to try the other suggestion you made but might need your assistance.

windy you could try other tabbed explorer programs and see if they do what you want. i only chose clover cause it was best suited to my needs.

qttabbar is one several people on virtualcustoms were reccommending, but i personally didn't like it.

tabexplorer i know nothing about. now be forewarned their site page is gone.

and if by chance you're running win 8.1 here.

I uninstalled Clover and installed QTTabBar. I like it so far. It seems to use less resources because I have better responsiveness with it installed.

However, there are two things that I hope to remedy. The first is when a folder is opened, QTTabBar won't open it in another tab like Clover does. It opens the folder in a separate window and to add it to the existing tabs you have to right-click and then add it. There are extensions available for QTTabBar. I hope one of the extensions will enable that feature.

The second thing is that I'm having the same issue I had with Clover in finding a file/folder so I can put in on a dock or in Workshelf.

I wonder why the file/folder for saved tabs is so hard to find. :?

I'll have to install them in one of my secondary PCs and see if I can help you out with this one, Windy.
If you haven't heard from me, remind me in a few days.

i have ti ask what is the big deal. i can see if someone is constantly logging off/on, or constantly rebooting. but todays comps it's rare to have ti do either, and as long as you have restore previous folds at logon/restart checked and leave the selected folders open all the time the bookmark becones a mute point.
