I think my prefs are corrupt. I get an 'Error: Access Violation' on an install that has been working for years. I can get it to run for a little bit but it's very unstable.

So I am wondering where the config or prefs files are stored? so I can restore them from a backup? Or poke around and delete corrupt entries?

Ok. So I exported the WinStep2000 registry keys. Uninstalled, re-installed and imported the .reg file. Besides losing a few icon settings I think it's working again.

Glad you sorted it out. I wouldn't have been able to help you much since that seems to have been a problem specific to your system (Access Violations are usually caused by third party software/extensions (e.g.; context menu extensions), by the way, loading themselves into Nexus memory space and crashing there, which makes it look like the application itself crashed when in fact it was the third party extension).
