Hello, i have a huge problem, first of all here is my specs

nexus ultimate trial, 14.11
Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit scaling set to 200% through windows 8
3840 2160 resolution 15.4 inch laptop
at this scaling when the dock is set to bottom, autohide off, and set to above all windows, it still goes behind taskbar and is unclickable (my taskbar windows is 3 rows high so the taskbar icons are higher than the dock)

so problem 1 is, that the dock keeps on going behind the taskbar
refer to this screenshot for dock and taskbar placement, (when it goes behind the taskbar the dock goes more transparent, at that moment it is in front of traskbar)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/b7xtdbjtyka7w ... 1.png?dl=0

problem 2, since i have 200% scaling, the upscaling sterches the resolution, i dont like this so i disabled the scaling JUST ON THIS PROGRAM by right clicking "C:\Program Files (x86)\Winstep\Nexus-Ultimate.exe", properties, compatibility, disable display scaling..., apply ok.
This corrects the scaling to the way i like it at a nice resolution, however refer to screenshots
https://www.dropbox.com/s/3m8dbfcpymth1 ... 6.png?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/vbvz5g5zi31fv ... 2.png?dl=0
you can see that the text is still being upscaling and comflicting with the scale of the user interface
also this change makes the dock often disappears even thought auto hide is off, it usually happens when i drag my mouse near the dock, it disappears, then i edge bump, it appears again, even thought the edge bump is toggled off in the sys tray

problem 3
behaviour, auto hide mode, slide
when this is on, edge bump on, pixels to react to edge bump tested on 0, 1, and 16, it can take sometimes 5 seconds for the dock to appear even thought i set the delay for the dock to appear from lowest 500ms to max 5000ms, both require me to move my mouse around on the left side of the screen until it comes up

problem 4
refer to this screenshot
https://www.dropbox.com/s/sj0opnlx53ayr ... 7.png?dl=0
how come the sub icons are almost 50% smaller when the dock is horizontal, when its vertical the icons seem to be same size

Now i know you can say why dont i just use the program with windows 8 scaling and not disable the scaling, but this really makes things look outdated, i tried many other dock programs, rocket dock, rk launcher, win launch, object dock, they all consider hidpi displays but by my observation your program doesnt. but i need your program as the features are much more superior than the other dock launchers i tried

Thank you

Is this issue not gonna be addressed/fixed?

I'm sure there's many HiDPI monitor users here....

i also noticed that when you launch a program from nexus the program's interface will run to neutral 100% scale but the text will be scaled, causing corruption in the formatting

Not that I would be able to help with your scaling issue, but are you aware that the pics you posted are expired and deleted? That is really strange since your original post is only 4 days old.

You need to use a different image host to post your pics so they won't expire so quickly. You can try TinyPic. It should last long enough for someone to look at the pics and potentially give you an answer.

The first thing I have to say, I saw the pics you posted and that desktop background is badass!! :D

I don't know if this will help with any of your issues, but about two weeks ago I saw a post that talked about changing the DPI setting to 136%.

I changed it (by using the custom feature) and after my PC rebooted, my weather module was gone! I started to panic something fierce because I didn't want to have to redo everything to see if I could get it back.

I checked everything in Winstep Xtreme to see if it got deleted somehow, but everything I did said it was still there! I was totally flummoxed, so I decided that it obviously had something to do with me changing the DPI setting.

I changed it back to the original and it came back! What I ended up figuring out was that it moved it off the screen. So what I did was lower the DPI setting to 125% and moved the weather module over. At 125% before moving it, it was barely showing on the side of the screen.

So, maybe if you move your dock and other items toward the center of the screen, it might not overlap and you can play around with them to get the desired result.

thanks i made the background (im a photographer/editor)

but 125% is not good enough as the screen is 4k resolution at 15inch, would be way too small, 200% just about does it.

thanks for trying :)

are you one of the developers?

No, I'm not  There is only one developer. His name is Jorge Coelho. His screen name is Winstep. He's a really nice guy! I guess he's busy at the moment why he hasn't responded to your inquiries.

Oh BTW, if you end up getting a response from him, and if you're interested, maybe you should talk to him about making desktop backgrounds. I was going to ask you where you got yours from. You obviously are very talented!

In case you haven't seen it, here's a thread I started a few years ago and last posted in a couple of years ago. You might find it interesting. It might have some info in it that you will find valuable so I suggest you read the whole thing. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4530&hilit=winstep+planet+background

This is the link to what was mentioned in the first part of the thread about the Winstep Themes page. http://www.winstep.net/themes.asp

newbie here

Hi all. As title says, how do I make a sub-dock horizontal in orientation, just like the weather app's sub-dock?

i really do hope the developer reads as this is the only launcher program that fits my needs (quicklaunch just doesnt cut it anymore), and the other programs dont have subdocks and arent as customizable

regarding backgrounds i have loads on my website:

if youre after that one specifically you can download it here:

I didn't reply at the time (apologies for that), but that didn't mean I wasn't aware of the problem.

I think you will like to know that the upcoming v15.9 is fully High-DPI aware and functions properly on high-DPI displays without the need for DPI virtualization.

You can also choose if menus and the text in the Shelf get automatically scaled up to match the new DPI settings or not.
