I'm using Nexus and Winshelf and I am having trouble with the ram module. It will not update. I mouse over it and it shows the ram in the bubble but the module will not update to show the info.
Any help on this or ideas why it won't update?

Thanks...Stephen

Hmmm... Couple of questions:

1) You are talking about the in-shelf/dock, the desktop module or both?

2) What theme are you using?

3) The RAM module usually displays virtual memory settings (as it should). Are you sure you're not comparing VM settings to Physical RAM settings?

4) Assuming you are talking about the desktop module, what happens if you close and open it again?

I'm using the Aero low res theme.
I'm talking about the desktop meter.
The bubble that comes out when you mouse over it shows a different indication than the meter does.
I closed it or from the menu I hide it and then show it again it updates to what the bubble shows. The percentage and the total memory, Mb used and Gb available memory all update when I opened it back up.
Now it will not update anymore. It will keep the same display on until I hide it and show it again.
The one on the shelf works ok.

Hmmm... It's working properly here.

One more question then: how much RAM do you have? Also, in terms of percentage of RAM used (x% as displayed on the graphical meter), is there a large difference between what the bubble tooltip displays and what the actual module shows (i.e.; large enough to change the % number)?

Also, does the problem remain if you exit and re-run WorkShelf?

I have had this same problem and I have had it will all themes. What I do is right-click and choose "RAM Meter Theme" and then it's fine. What it does is show "0" until I do this.

I changed to another theme and they all work. They update without doing anything to them. When I go back to the Aero it just sits there and does not update.

This is getting more and more weird. It all works here, on several PCs.

Gregory states it doesn't work with ANY theme, you state it's only with Aero... Hmmmm.... What does the RAM Meter report as Total Memory in your systems, Skilmer and Gregory?

Shows 3.83 Gb Total Memory
When I first start Workshelf it comes up 0.
It was not coming up 0 before. I haven't changed anything here.
I'll do a system reboot and see if that changes anything.

Ok, I think this might have something to do with having more than 2 GB virtual memory. I bet Gregory also has more than that.

This only happens on a reboot. I just did a reboot and I now have: 0% - 0 Bytes Total Memory - 0 Bytes Used - 0 Bytes Available. On a side note, if I change themes the clock doesn't change.

That's probably because you locked the clock theme. Right click on the clock desktop module and select 'Unlock Theme' from the context menu.
