Can this module access and work with Outlook email? If so, how and what are the settings needed? I can't get it to work - "Connection Failure" Thx

Try and keep up with what is happening here and with announcements. Besides, it's hardly that you've been waiting for an answer for months, is it. It is not always possible to answer queries immediately - nobody pays for an instant email or forum support, and this is a one-man outfit with two active volunteer moderators. We all do our best when and where we can.

So stop complaining like a whining ninny and just keep informed with developments here. It's not like you've paid for a multi-hundred/-thousand dollar/pound/euro app with a whole support team to deal with issues.

Nexter and I are unpaid volunteers. We play good-cop and bad-cop. Guess which one I am.

I can't really answer yet because I:

• Don't use the module
• Haven't used the module in a long time
• Only use Outlook for work emails
• Have no idea if you're using Outlook.com via the web or using Outlook, the corporate email client through your work

I'm also having this problem getting the email checker to work with outlook. The problem seems to be that Exchange security requires modern authentication, while email checker uses legacy authentication.

There comes a point where it's not worth updating a simple module like the Email Checker if the protocols become so convoluted they require 3rd party libraries to access, etc...

This said, I have a personal account hosted at outlook.com and the Email Checker seems to have no problem accessing it though POP3.

The latest Outlook updates its icon with an envelope when there is new email, so it makes the email checker redundant in some ways. However, the winstep dock doesn't update the icon, perhaps by design?

Either case, not really important, but thought you should know.

Unless you changed it, it not only updates the icon, but also shows the number of unread emails on the server in a little badge on the bottom right corner of the icon and even TELLS you this number by voice.

If that is not working for you, double check your Email module settings.
