Pity the Winstep gallery isn't available to the General Public yet.

Like the Green GooGEL / "Slime" one - original and a touch of humor there. :D

Thanks and definitely, there's enough serious stuff in the world.

Indeed, more than enough. Slaughter, famine, starvation, genocide - it's all too much. Without a bit of humor it's all enough to make one lose the will to live. :(

As the creator/owner, and I know it is a pain in the rear, perhaps the only way to ensure your product is best exemplified is to open every one and make a note of the ones that make YOU and your product sing its own praises.
That is a heck of a lot of work just to do that for a public worksite check...

Small example - I have workbench frames turned off so I already know as I tested today that I have made the mistake of not creating graphic frames to match so the black default ones don't do wonders in a couple (Facepalm).

Mid doing something but I will finish this one afterwards probably closer to he weekend.... just doing the fiddly color and alignment and matching Franklin Gothic font and sizes and...and..you get my drift...I decided to put mor battery info and more email info and at present they're only set to 'True' and not aligned or the aforementioned... I will upload "Candy" to the Winstep Gallery as well when finished with the designed wallpaper. To my knowledge you can't get the sickly dark green jubes ... yes there's humor in this...again...
It's not difficult, just pedantic and time consuming that's all. :D

I decided to do a Dystopian theme - People keep referring to A.I. as being potentially self-aware and thinking for itself and it's a harbinger of doom like the 'The Terminator 'movies. Regardless of any of that, I thought if this was to happen, sure making a robot perfectly like a human is pretty scary, but if A.I. knew as much as every story and fictional novel suggests about the human race, it wouldn't just create human-based robots, it would create the kind of robots that based on animals and mythological creatures that humans have nightmares about.

I have already started....this one will be a fun adventure..

I've got good (bad?) news. "AI" is a complete misnomer for what it is applied to. It si simply Machine Learning and LLMs, nothing more. True AI could not ever be 'created' and exist on a Turing computer. (On a Quantum computer, just possibly.) Both the hardware and software paradigms preclude it. The real experts in this area don't come from a purely comp sci background but actually from a neuro-physiological one - make some fascinating reading. Virtually by definition, incidentally, true AI would be sentient. :D

*But* - be scared! Be *very* scared! Current so-called 'Ai' does pose a lot of very great dangers, and the effects of some of these are already clearly observable. (My next Mini Blog post will have more on this, actually.) Yes, we are already moving towards a dystopian world at breakneck speed, so in that respect you're right on the button! :D (Just not in re: physical monsters. ;) )

i can always count on you for a solid answer :)

while I can certainly speak less ambiguously, I decided once I finished what I did (your private email) - I decided to do lay-speak again, because the verbosity I spent five years doing was not real-life for me... I'd had enough dealings with people who had their cranium buried between their gluteus maximus all because they had a piece of paper - so my apologies for any generalisations.

Everything you have said is absolutely correct and I should have said "fictional robot or sci-fi robotic take-overs" (facepalm).

LOL! I love that imagery! :) And so apt, too. Nothing wrong with the odd generalisations, and certainly no need to apologise, surely.

Thank you, I knew you'd know so mainly wrote to disabuse the 'great unwashed' of any delusions. ;) Anyway, your idea for the theme sounds like fun! :D Looking forward to seeing the results, actually. Now if only people could be made to be that scared of the reality! :(

After spending longer than I'd like retrieving hard work on some images I did for a theme for the person I live with as a result of personal carelessness, I started while retrieving the files on a Dragon theme I did over ten years ago that was mediocre at best. While I certainly am a long way from an expert, I did this brief collage to see if I actually got better with shapes and lighting. Initially I used stuff I thought was cool... I guess we do get better over time or there really is no point.

This was and still is a theme called "Dragon mist" - I'll upload when done which will be a little while. Wireframes for some things you can use standard accessible ones, but if I want to make each one unique, it takes a lot more time... I'll keep most of the Workshelf, dissatisfied with Nexus and the menus... whoever said making scales look realistic is really easy is much better than I am or resembles words that may be inappropriate

nah I do not mind sharing, we're all learning. :) The recent version 10+ years later is in the upper right. Fortunately I was intelligent enough to save the wireframes.

@ Nexter - here's a sample of the Robots... I fluked the menu, it scales beautifully keeping its sheen. I'd hoped and did it with intent, but nonetheless, it was fluke. The Tiger quartz texture seems to be less affected by stretching than others.

The nightmare? everything flies except the giant robot centipede on the menu which is bad enough that its on ground level.

it will still be a little while.. It's fun though. :D

Ooh, I really am impressed with the new one, like it! :) Could almost have stepped out of "The Desolation of Smaug". Although, he does have a bit of a grin, or that's what I interpret it as. :D

Yeah, scales are a real bugger, and it's not even easy to use 'skins' - just don't seem to look right.

Coming along nicely! Like the armour-like skin textures also. :D

Thanks very much. :)
Now I am wayyyy... older since I first tried to do a theme, I have more time and I think like any of us, the more we work at something, the better we get at it.

@ NEXTER - thanks for the affirmation - I started to think I was alone with not being able to do decent dragon scales quickly
