I am taking a break. I have been working on a Vista Aero Glass theme. Start button, startbar and modules are easy as is the official wallpaper which is easy and free to download... The Menu - not so much. It has to look and feel right and there are limitations...

@Jorge - I did get the Aero glass thing happening and have saved my settings so I can recreate in 'most' colors. You gave me the inspiration to fix this theme of ten years ago. I couldn't get the dark black theme modules to look right, and all black is actually quite difficult to work with so when you mentioned Aero glass, it was a light bulb - epiphany I think is more correct. .thanks :)

I'll upload a bit farther down the track when I clean it up a little more as I'll probably take the silk out of the workshelf as it feels too much...maybe 65% transparency...anyway I'll look after a break.. Thank you Jorge

Black Silk which is now hightlighted with a green-blue is up.

I had a few hours to spare so I have almost redone this one too from ten years ago. Have to fix clock hands, remove separator bars on main menu and align quite a few things that will bug me if I leave them. Other than that it's looking better than it used to.

Unfortunately - This won't be available until closer to Christmas when I have a laptop. I decided to go for the meters and minimize/close/on-top buttons as well and the Battery will have a meter as well, so I'll have to wait. It is more than likely I'll have to re-upload many of the themes once I have the laptop because I flew pretty blind doing them without a battery reference.
Cheers

While I'm no expert lepidopterist, merely a butterfly fancier, there are one or two to the right that look like they could be some sub-species of morpho peleides (Blue Emperor)?

Anyway, visually very attractive this theme. :D

Yes very astute :) Thank you kindly.

There is actually a Monarch butterfly as well, It might be the most well known of all. The colours didn't work by default but it does to indicate the trash is full because it stands out as a different colour.. The Chyrsalis turns orange when trash is put in the recycle bin and the Blue Emperor changes to an Orange Monarch.

This is a new theme I have almost finished. I am quite unhappy with the information placeholders, I intend to do something different and have not quite worked out what just yet that will work best... and quite possibly, when I can monitor the battery aspects, I may well end up changing to simply meters. Not sure yet of anything with the modules other than I'm not happy with them.
I will put up closer to Nov-Dec with Butterflies.

You can't tell from this image because the Workshelf is up, but the way I superimposed the vines, it almost looks like you are looking out onto the plains from inside the jungle. There are nearly four 'almost' easter eggs in this, being a nod of the head to Clyde and also The Phantom, Lion King and Madagascar, for anyone who gets it.

I did this ten years ago and could never get it working properly or looking right.
It's larger than I may normally do but in many ways it has to be. I also included a roll-up and close button for a change. Nice part is icons on both main menu and submenu's align perfectly. Amazing what time away for several years and a fresh take on something can do.

This was one of the very first I made. Mostly redone.

I haven't redone the placeholders for weather, ethernet RAM, CPU or email as yet as a humbling tool.

The rest is pretty much done. It was good to see how I have gone from bad to decent over more than a decade.
I will redo them in vectors which will unfortunately end up as raster anyway but it will definitely look less crappy and sloppy.

I got creative and went for something totally different and did a circular main menu.
I noticed someone else has one out there. The thing is I did mine as a result from spending time teaching in Aboriginal communities in the FAR North of Australia and witnessing it first hand. It is truly spectacular. No video or photo has adequately portrayed it in how amazing mother nature truly is.

Will upload with the others as mentioned above in that time-frame.

Lightning fixed. Can't really beat semi-transparent aero glass..

fixed this old one too with some nice timber textures. Have a couple of other decent old ones that had a good concept I will fix on return.. Yes the clock works. I'd do a cuckoo popping out on the hour but modules other than meters do not animate.

NOW I am taking a break. problem with getting older is I have always been busy...some habits harder to break than others..

Oh NO! Please, if anim ever happens, no vulgar cuckoo clocks! (And incidentally, so often they're wrongly attributed to the Swiss - the Swiss wouldn't be quite *that* vulgar! - when in reality they're a German Black Forest invention! :( Too ghastly for words. How about a nice big bark from some big hound instead, or a real good howl from a nice big grey wolf? :D A cawing raven wouldn't be bad either, or a parrot or minah bird saying "Show us your knickers darling!" ;) (Once knew one of the latter to say just that whenever a woman came into view. ) Ooh, just thought - or a raven uttering "Nevermore!" :D

Oh, by the by, the mod images look like they're about to fall of the mantelpiece, alas.

While on a break - I did this originally as an experiment attempting to get two completely different climates into one image which turned out ok. It's not perfect but it is certainly decent enough. I could manually fine tune the feathering and blurring but it would not make a lot of difference for the amount of time it would take to ever be satisfied. I find it difficult to be idle...

I was going to attempt to be funny like the prior image but it would be too political even though it looked fun - I had a penguin popping its head out from the full trash of shellfish with a message box: "What's a tariff? Can I eat it?" - but decided it might either offend some people's delicate sensibilities, or some people may not get the joke and they may not see it as satire.

Go with it, @BasswdudeNZ! Offend away! People should always remember that with the right to free speech and expression comes also the right to be offended. Anybody who gets offended by anything needs to either put up or shut the **** up! And there's Voltaire, of course. :P

Hey, for one of the serious predators you could always have "What's a Narcissist? Can I eat it/him/her?" ;) Endless possibilities for satire. :)
