Hello Jorge,
First of all, thank you for your very kind feedback, which I really appreciated in the "banned without actually being banned" post...
But I'm currently posting to report a few minor bugs that I don't think appeared in the previous version, 25.6:
Main theme "Windows 11 Dark" created by myself based on "Windows 11" with 16-pixel taskbar icons.

In the 2nd image, framed in red, I changed the icons to 32 pixels, the taskbar grew by 16 pixels and did not remain stable at 48 pixels as defined in the .wst configuration file.

In the 3rd image, framed in red, I only set the "Tasks, A and M" icon to 32 pixels and the taskbar did not budge and remained at 48 pixels...

This was just a report, and I continue to express my deepest respect for you, your work, and everything you do on this forum...
Sincerely and respectfully,
Picco14.

I couldn't send the fourth image, but it concerns the taskbar on the right and left. It now takes up half the screen without being able to intervene in the theme's configuration files, even by introducing "StartBarV, barSepV, and SysBackV" bitmaps. This irremediably takes up half the screen for all themes, even the oldest ones.

Thanks again, Jorge...

Sorry Picco, had to split the posts from the 'Wishlist' topic into its own separate topic.

Let me have a look and I'll get back to you ASAP.

Posts only support a maximum of 3 attachments, by the way.

Can you please send the theme to the Winstep support email address so I can have a look at what is causing this?

Hello Jorge,
No problem, I'll send you the theme in question as soon as possible to investigate this issue. However, these problems also appear on all themes, even those originally included with the software and the older ones (DarkTeck, Aero LowRes, Atmospherica, Darkmatter, K-TEK 4D, Office, Windows_7_Xtreme), especially for the taskbars on the right and left, which now occupy half the screen.
As for the icons on the taskbar, I can understand its enlargement if it's 30 or 32 pixels high, but not on a 48-pixel bar if we want to go from 16 to 32 pixels. 64 pixels is okay, it's normal, it's logical. It's mainly the problem of the taskbar on the right and left that bothers me the most and which did not appear in previous versions, especially since there are no particular settings on the vertical StarBar in the .wst file of the themes, or I missed something, it's possible, I don't claim to master all the parameters, there are some of which I completely ignore their presence, the functioning and their consequences on the theme. The icons in the taskbar are not so important, they can remain at 16 it doesn't bother and works very well, it was just a point of detail for me, but perhaps not for you who would like everything to be perfect, I understand you and it is all to your credit as a designer. I myself am extremely picky. I'm satisfied when I think the theme I'm creating has no critical points. I examine every shadow, every pixel to see if everything fits my eye and, in a general view when everything is laid out on the screen, the slightest little detail that bothers me, I try to rectify, but no one is infallible. I do my best; there will always be imperfections that others will see...
If you solve the vertical taskbar problem, which has always been my biggest problem in designing a theme, even before, how many times have I torn my hair out over this startbarV, sysbackV, BarSepV to the point of not including them and letting the software solve the problem on its own with its already programmed setting, but whose color sometimes no longer matched the theme.
Well, to say that all my themes and the others are now broken with this vertical bar, if you fix this problem, which will surely upset you and rack your brains, sorry, the themes will become permanent again, and I will consider uploading some themes to the winstep gallery, but with time because some need to be reviewed, others I don't have the authorizations, and for some I will never obtain them...
Ah, for baby Noah, congratulations and no problem, I understand, and I experienced this a long time ago, a girl "Sophie" or Sophie, but who is now 39 years old and who lives with me but who is lucky enough to be able to go regularly if she wants...? to Portugal through her mother to her grandparents who live in the Porto region.
Well, maybe it's not the custom, here in France, yes...
So, I send you big kisses to you and your family and wish you the best...
Sincerely,
Picco14.

Hello Jorge,
Sorry, I'm a fool, I hadn't realized that the vertical taskbar was expandable, so everything works normally on the right and left, the problem is solved...
Sorry again for perhaps wasting your time.
The only issue is the icon size.
Thanks for everything.
Sincerely...

Ahah, no problems, that is why I wanted to check with the theme loaded.

Ended up not having done that yet as besides being in the middle of something else as I mentioned by email, baby Noah is also around and taking nearly all my time lol

Simple solution, applicable to all kids - though especially 'OPKs' ('Other people's kids' :P ). Just put him in a little cage and occasionally throw some scraps of (raw) meat in the cage to keep him quiet! ;)

You don't know "little" baby Noah. He would eat the scraps of meat, the cage and then me for snacks. You have to keep him well fed at all times, or else...! :D

""little" baby" Noah? Surely not. :) At nearly 2 he's no baby but a toddler, probably walking and talking. :D And he certainly didn't look all that little last time - what are you all feeding him on?! ;) Well, just put him on a nice iron chain inside the cage, and make it larger scraps of raw meat. ;) :P

I simply wished to praise you for your marvelous attention to even the smallest detail picco.
I appreciate how much work you would have put into it.

I am sure Jorge managed to rectify it.
Regards

Hello everyone,
Jorge, on August 19, 2025, I sent you the Winstep "Windows 11 Dark" theme supposedly for a vertical taskbar issue that wasn't actually occurring, along with the Xion Player and Rainmeter themes. It's now November 23rd, and I hope that the arrival of baby Noah hasn't prevented you from launching the theme, which takes only 2 seconds, and testing it.

I don't know if you use Xion Player and Rainmeter; that's a separate matter and not the issue here.

The issue is that I was asking about the size of the icons on the taskbar and the taskbar, A, and M folders. While you thanked me for sending the complete theme, have you actually installed and tested it since? As of today, November 23rd, there's been no feedback on the forum or in private messages, not even a positive or negative review of the theme or a response regarding the icon problem. We both have this theme, you and I, and I find it appalling that I haven't heard back from you and that this post has been forgotten.

With all due respect, the next time you ask me to send you a theme to test, you'll get peanuts in return.

Anyway, you won't have to do it again because I won't be asking for anything in the future regarding hypothetical bugs.

Sincerely, and no hard feelings...
Picco14, the troublemaker, if you will!

Don't take it the wrong way, it's all in good fun!

Picco, I like peace and people that are easy going by nature. I don't have a lot of patience for drama.

I did install the theme and I did launch it once, and then I got busy with other things. As you know (or you would if you paid any attention to business other than your own) I have been working my ass off lately with new releases. One at the end of June, another at the end of July and another at the end of September. All of these releases were filed to the brink with new features and implied a gigantic amount of work.

I haven't seen you since August, not a peep from you. Where were you when I was desperately asking for feedback on the various "What's next after version 25.x" threads?

You didn't even drop by to remind me to check on the theme, as if that had to be the most important thing in my life, above all else. And then you act as if letting me take a look at one of your themes to fix a possible bug was actually a FAVOR you are magnanimously doing to me. I knew a person like that once, they behaved as though letting me help them was this amazing gift I should be grateful for—when I was the one actually doing them a favor.

In this case it is even reciprocal, I fix a bug, you fix your theme, so you are doing yourself a disservice by behaving like this (but then what is that expression, "cut off your nose to spite your face"? lol)

Anyway, as I said, I am currently focused on the functional aspect of Winstep applications just as you are focused on the skinning side (which explains why you could not care less about my request for feedback).

As I explained in the other thread, getting into the skinning aspect of it means having to let go of all the other stuff (even if temporarily) to tackle something that is actually huge, old, and very complex - whether you see it like that or not.

I can be nudged into it (as it eventually happened with your request for the mouse over arrows in the calendar), but it is certainly not with this type of attitude. Be nice, I'll be nice back to you. Not be nice once expecting full attention in return, and then become nasty again (all in good fun, of course) when you don't get your way.

As I said, eventually I will focus again on the skinning side of it and then the skinning part will have my full undivided attention. At this rate It will even probably happen sooner rather than later.

Anyway, pity about this, I was thinking about eventually asking you to let me ship your Windows 11 theme with the Winstep applications, it is THAT good, but at this point I can easily guess what your answer would be lol
