Hey, great Jorge - that was quick! :D

That leaves my issue with the desktop Disk mod and not being able to change the data text fields, but it'll keep for now. :)

Wait, what? What did I miss?

 Just this, excerpted from my last post on previous page -

...Anyway, to be 100% on topic, keep forgetting one issue, starting in 26.1 and unchanged in the betas. I've been running the new Disk mod whenever I'm in Windows, and the issue is that I can't change the data displayed in the desktop mod! Every time I change them in the applet, nothing changes at all. (Haven't had a chance to try the iconic mod yet, BTW. - Next time I'm in there.)/quote]

Just found and fixed a MAJOR MAJOR bug introduced in v25.9 because of the new multi-selection feature: dragging one or more files from a Folder type tab to an Explorer window would actually CRASH Explorer because of a malformed CIDA structure.

Fixed now.

It's been a good long while since I dragged any file from the shelf to another app, but back when I did don't recall ever crashing Exploder. ;)

You put that text inside quotes, that is why I never even looked at it. Newbie! :D

To answer your questions:

1. You cannot change the data that appears in the desktop module version of the Disk Meter, only skinners can do that when making a theme (just like it happens with the other desktop modules). The data you can select in the Settings panel is related to the iconic version of the module.

2. The Explorer crash bug was only introduced in v25.9 after adding multi-select, as I had to change the code so you could drag multiple items at once.

 Argh! Didn't spot that, wasn't meant to happen. I think 'brain fart' is the term... :P

1. Ah right. That's not so bad - an iconic one is the only thing I'd use myself, just 1 drive.

2. Oops, didn't read that properly in your OP. I claim Old Age. ;)

Ok, content of the Winstep Xtreme and Nexus pages re-written and re-organized so it isn't such a "feature dump", with a bit of a face-lift too.

Still have to re-do a ton of the screenshots.

"Buy me a Beer" has already produced some fruits too... not much, but something is always better than nothing. :D

Good start. :D But there are still large parts of text that really need revising.

Excellent! Definitely better than nothing, and always bear in mind this old English adage Jorge - 'From tiny acorns mighty oaks doth grow'. :D

Got to test the iconic Drive mod also by now - pity the text options are so limited. What I would really need would be 'total read' and 'total written', speed is of very little interest really - heck it's fast, so what? :P Odd thing happened with the desktop mod - it suddenly showed a USB stick (1TB, not mine alas!) as an SSD USB drive! Must have fooled Windows, I guess.

Are you still going to do an "All Drives" mod sometime BTW, Jorge? Now that really would be useful here, especially if info options include total read and total written. :)

You mean total read and total written for the lifetime of the drive? If so, that is a SMART value and is only available for SSDs.

Unfortunately most SSD vendors like to use proprietary protocols... getting the temperature was already bad enough lol

Personally I find it a lot more useful than "total bytes written". Allows you to see two things at a glance: how heavily a drive is being utilized, if it is, and actual transfer speeds. Even Windows shows that information in the dialog when copying or moving files.

LOL. Those are actually not incompatible. USB is the bridge/protocol used to communicate with the drive, SSD is the type of storage media. High‑end USB 3.1/3.2 sticks (Sandisk Extreme Pro, Samsung Bar Plus, Kingston HyperX) will sometimes identify as SSDs.

Eh? You mean not just fixed disks?

Can users reading this please open the Settings panel for the Battery module and report back if they see (or not) the dialog opening and then immediately closing again by itself ?

I've already changed the code here so this won't happen any more but it seems to be intermittent (and it had never happened before). The behavior was caused by a simulated click on the event log text box to force it to scroll to the end, but the Cancel button was stealing focus for some reason and intercepting the click.
