I have a floated Shelf on my desktop
Tabs above the icons.
When I click the tab to colapse the iconrow, the tabshelf moves beneath.
So when i will click again to expand the icons i have to move my cursor.
That is annoying.
How can I get the shelf not moving up and down?
Thanks
Ivar

The current behavior is intentional. Floating Shelves normally keep the body in place while the tab strip slides across it when collapsing.

However, you do have a valid point. When the tabs move away from the mouse pointer, you have to reposition the cursor before expanding the Shelf again. Also, inverted Shelves docked to the bottom or top of the screen already keep the tabs anchored and slide the Shelf body instead, so this would not be an entirely new behavior.

I will probably add an option in the next release allowing the tabs of a floating Shelf to remain fixed while the Shelf body collapses toward them.

Thanks for the suggestion.

OK, just added and tested this feature.

Next release you will be able to find the relevant setting in Shelf Properties-> Behavior tab -> Auto-Hide Settings -> Keep tabs stationary when collapsing a floating Shelf

I'm about to release a new beta, so you will be able to give that a try very shortly mow. :D

I'll let you know here once the beta is out.

New beta of v26.7 which adds your feature request has been released here:

viewtopic.php?p=51154#p51154

To keep the tabs anchored on a floating shelf after installing the beta, open that shelf's Properties dialog ->Behavior tab -> Auto-Hide Settings -> Enable "Keep tabs stationary when collapsing a floating shelf"

Please let me know if it working properly.

Just tested with a vertical floating shelf (inverted and not inverted, and on both sides of the screen) and that was not my experience. Any chance of a video?

This said, you making me look into this again did allow me to catch a related issue when manually resizing the shelf either by dragging or double clicking the tabs.

Send it over to the Winstep support address, I think it's not too large...

Otherwise you will need to upload it somewhere else...

Ok, didn't see anything that would allow me to reach a conclusion. Isn't that shelf docked to the screen edge? The setting is for floating shelves only.

Otherwise please post a screenshot of the Position tab in that Shelf's Properties dialog (and double check that "Keep tabs stationary when collapsing a floating shelf" is indeed set for that shelf in Shelf Properties -> Behavior tab -> Auto-Hide Settings).

Perhaps that is the type of setting that should actually be global (i.e. apply to all shelves) ?
