Hey people
This is my first time ever posting in a forum....ever and the problem that has led me 2 popping my cherry is that i would love to know how to save the event sounds. I want 2 be able 2 load my modification of the xaphire theme(thanx mcackerson) and not have the default sounds load. I am a newbie at skinning. I believe i would need 2 create some sort of scheme file to add into the zipfile that i created. Please help i put a lot of time into finding sounds and really hate setting them again if i decide 2 switch themes.
So basically my main question is how do i create a sound scheme? Once i have a reply i would be glad 2 upload the mod. I have also changed fonts and some small visual tweaks. but i think the sounds go great. they r all fire related!!! Thanks 2 all who read and or reply.

What you really seem to want is for the current Sound scheme to stay the same even when you change themes. Easy to accomplish: :D

For NextSTART sounds:

1 - Open NextSTART Preferences.
2 - Go to Sound and Animation Preferences tab.
3 - Select 'Lock Sounds'

For WorkShelf sounds:

1 - Open WorkShelf Preferences.
2 - Go to Global Preferences tab.
3 - Select 'Lock Sounds'.

Under WorkShelf you can also save your current Sound Scheme as a 'Sound Pak' theme. Here is how to do it:

1 - Open WorkShelf Preferences.
2 - Go to the Theme Management tab.
3 - Select 'Sound Pak' from the pull up menu at the top.
4 - Type in your name and a suitable name for your sound theme in the Author and Theme text boxes below.
5 - Click on the Save Theme button (the button with a picture of a diskette and a pencil).

Hope this helps,

If you read again my reply to you, at the bottom I explain how to save a WorkShelf sound scheme as a Sound Pak (so it becomes available in the WorkShelf Appearence and Sounds right click menu).

Unfortunately NextSTART does not support Sound Paks.
