In the 'dock entry properties' tab, a 'Browse' button next to the 'Folder' text input field.

or an option to drag and drop the folder from the new location to the textfield, to input the new path.

If I move a folder to another part, I could browse the new location, not just handwrite it.

(I know it seems overcomplicated as I can simple drag the item to the dock once more, but the way mentioned above I don't need to customize the icon again.)

analog clock pop-up window with bigger image on it (and an optional calendar image)

5. You mean what you get when you click on the system tray time in the Windows 7 taskbar?
You can get the same by clicking the clock module in a dock
or Shelf or double clicking the desktop clock module.

No, to tell the truth, I think about some sort of magnifying effect for
the clock module only - OR - a pop-up with a bigger icon.
So if I disable the roll-over magnifying effects on my dock,
even so I would be able to magnify only the clock itself
on rollover to achive a bigger image (icon) of it temporarily.

(Now I can achieve this by e.g., r-click on the module,
'Remove from Dock', so a big icon pops up in the middle
(with the confirmation dialog),
and then I click on No, as I don't want to remove it)

Unfortunatelly, when I click on the clock,
the Date and Time window OPENS (not a pop-up window),
and not the calendar :(

i would make the suggestion to give the use the choice between using the cpu or gpu mainly for the various winstep effects. i personally would prefer using the gpu. my reasoning for this is one i rarely game, and two most of my big boy programs are not gpu intensive, but they are cpu intensive. maybe also include a way for the user to switch between cpu and gpu for winstep.

Been using Nexus Ultimate for a few weeks now and am loving it over Object Dock. Recently I ran into a small "issue".

Most of the programs that I run should only have 1 instance running at a time. So I checked the appropriate box, Do not launch multiple sessions, in the dock's Behavior tab. My "issue" is that there are some programs like putty (a ssh client) that I need to have multiple sessions running. What I would like to see is the multiple session checkbox in the dock item properties. It could be an override of the main dock behavior or just a move of the checkbox from the dock's behavior tab.

Thanks for listening and keep up the good work.

To launch another session, just press SHIFT when clicking on the icon. That's how Windows does it too.

would like to see a winstep taskbar standalone product.. that is the taskbar without the entire winstep package. this will be lighter on older pcs, and attract more users to your products. some people may want to just change the look of the taskbar without having the full version of the program.

so can you put out a winstep taskbar, or slimmer version of winstep?

thanks

1) OPENING FOLDERS (from menus) IN EXPLORER WITH MIDDLE CLICK ON IT!!

Because now I have to sometimes TRIPLECLICK or sometimes DOUBLECLICK, to open a folder from a fly-out menu. because clicking on a menu shows its contains so it is in "conflict" or "in battle" with the openinig in explorer cmd.

2)

bringing forward a Tabbed dock with a shortcut key.

For Nexus toolbar, could we have a theme that makes it look like the dockable toolbars that were available in XP and Vista?

About the separate winstep taskbar: actually, I'd like to see all the Winstep products separated... I also think that this will attract more people, and you'll make a higher choice availability. A user could choose to buy only some of the products that he's interested on, or might look forward for the Ultimate or Extreme version which would offer much products all together.
Obviously, that's not a request, it's only a suggestion and I only wanted to let you know my idea, Jorge. The choice of distributing your work it's only yours :)

I'm currently playing with the trial version of xtreme and I have a few suggestions which would make the suite much more attractive to me.

1. Allow incorporation of Windows Vista/7 sidebar/desktop "gadgets" into the docks. (this ties directly into #2)

2. I'd like to see an increase in Modules that are available. Unless I'm missing something vital, it appears that the only modules available came with the software and that makes the dock pretty limited in Windows 7. To that point, modules I'd like to see (that are currently freeware gadgets for Win7):
--2a. A customizable RSS news feed
--2b. A radio module tying to Pandora or XM internet radio.
--2c. A more powerful computer monitoring utility. The Win7 desktop gadget I have incorporates individualized HDD space monitoring along with RAM and quad-core CPU usage stats.

3. An option to park a shelf on the sides of the screen, instead of being limited to top/bottom.

4. Separate the edge-bump show timers between docks and shelves. I may want a side dock to show up quickly when I hit the side of my screen while still having a shelf that takes its time showing when I bump the top of my screen. Though each appears to have its own option, adjusting one automatically adjusts the other from what I have seen.

I've read elsewhere around here that you have no intention of allowing 3rd-party module creation but I have to say that while I think your software is beautifully designed, I find its lack of utility causes me to balk when I consider spending $30 for a licensed edition. Perhaps a compromise would be to allow select users to submit their own modular creations to your staff for review and possible incorporation or submission to a download site so users could download just the modules they wanted?

Just a thought.

Aesthetically, your suite is wonderfully pleasing. I just wish for something that fits my needs a bit better. :)

Kind regards,
Zen

It's impossible to please everyone, even if only because different people have different needs. :D

There is an incredible amount of functionality packed into Winstep Xtreme already, and still plenty of room for expansion. The application will keep on evolving, and, some of the things you mentioned (such as a vertical Shelf) are high in the to-do list.

Jorge, may I ask you, why didn't you made Nexus and the other winstep applications modular (ability to use external plugins/addons)?
I'm not criticizing you, it's just a curiosity I have because I see lots of other products which are highly modular (1 of all: Rocket Dock).

Please, there is a feature that would enlighten my life, I want to be able to create within a shelf a folder leading to a sub-shelf. Let me explain. I love to see my movies in a "movie" shelf, with big 256 icons (movie covers), but I need to put them in categories folders : for Lord of the Rings, I put a big 256 hi-res gold ring as the folder icon, and inside I want to put the three movies with big icons as well. Same goes for my console games : a big SNES icon for the folder and, inside, PNG title screens as icons for my games.

Thanks !!!

You can do something like that already: the Shelf supports sub-docks.

Well that's not what I mean. I want a shelf within a shelf, a real window, not a scrolling dock. Besides I didn't find a way to customize s shelf subdock (when I right-click on the subdock I don't see any entry to customize it), so I can't use 256x256 icons or make it horizontal.
