Zoom is the best effect, and most commonly used. Perfect for a mouse over, it just brings emphasis to the mouse position and what you are going to click.

However, I think you could add something really cool to the dock, if you also make it possible for the current "mouseover" effect to be used as "click" effects. I'd much rather have one of your super eye-candy animations turn on when I click an icon that have it just "bounce" (a fairly "blah" effect, which I always turn off). Even better would be the possibility to have a random "click" effect from the many wonderful animations when you click an icon. Then you can see them all!

I hope it wouldn't be much work to shift those animations into another potential use. I think it would be a really nice option.

Maybe this should go in the "wishlist" thread, instead of here... :)

Kudos on the beautiful software.

Yeah, that'll be cool!
Though, I was thinking at some specific made effects for open animation. Actually the icon only bounces when clicked; it would be great if it could bounce for example when an application/window requests focus (if the dock is hidden to show it for a while, 1-2 seconds). Obviously, the possibility to personalize which effect shall be used for those events.

I know that this will be a bit more work for you Jorge, but it would be a very big and great improvement. Think just that anyone will love it!

Things have slowly been getting into that point: being able to use any (most of) the mouse over effects also as the 'click' and 'attention' effects.

It looks like you have something in that evil mind of yours! I'd like to know what is it, but I'll wait until any official news will be given us :)

No, just pointing out that things are made with a larger plan in mind, but they must still be built step by step, brick by brick.

For instance, before being able to add different 'click' and 'attention' effects, first I needed to make Nexus able to combine the non-magnify mouse over effects (water, rotate, spin, etc...) with the Magnify effect. This was accomplished in v11.5/v11.6, so now the next logical step is to implement the different 'click' and 'attention' effects. Doing that has been on my to-do list all along. :D
