The directions for installing 3rd party skins don't seem to work with the new .dockzip ObjectDock skins. Are they no longer supported?

Have you tried already renaming the .dockzip extension to .zip?

Yes, I did that. It went through the process, but the theme didn't appear on the list.

By the way, I'm extremely impressed with the swiftness of your support replies. I might have to upgrade to Xtreme just as a show of support.

Thanks. :D

Can you please give me the URL of one of those OD .dockzip themes?

Ok, .dockzip is a format proprietary to Stardock's ObjectDock. Before ObjectDock v2.0, AFAIK, you could simply rename the extension to .zip, but now that doesn't work anymore, it became a true closed format.

The good news is that most dock creators don't use the .dockzip extension, rather saving their themes in .zip files. :D

The bad news is that to use a .dockzip file you will have to install the free version of ObjectDock. You can then double click the .dockzip file to import the theme to the ObjectDock library, and then fetch the theme from there. Sorry.

I just have to say... coooooooool skin!
If the simplicity of the LCARS concept wasn't so contradicting the rest of Windows UI, I'd be really tempted to use that!

That doesn't sound like much of a hassle at all. I'll do that.

Oh, you should see the LCARS thing I'm building for my Windows right now using various customization tools. I'm very close to completion, this is one of the final elements. When completed, it'll be all LCARS everywhere.

I'll send you screenshots once it's done if you'd like.

I bet he would. :D In return, I'm pretty sure he'll show you the Winstep theme he made based on the Hyperdesk Star Trek theme (which is actually very nice).

So... it's like... you'll show me yours, I'll show you mine? lolz :D
(this thing is sooooooo wrong...)

Anyway, yeah, I'm using Hyperdesk Star Trek TOS, and I've made a theme for Winshelf. On occasion, I've posted screenshots around here. And I'm waiting for Jorge to finish up that damn theme creator so I can put the finishing touches.
Hey, Jorge, don't forget those things I've told you about from time to time, like the tiles/resizing method, or the shelf tab size mode, or the tile/offset discrepancy etc. before you do.

If you'd like, I can post a screenshot or two here... ;)

Actually, now that I've come to think about it... LCARS looks a lot like... the new Metro UI... OMFG !!! SHIT!!! I HATE THAT!!!

Winshelf?!! WINSHELF?! Must have something to do with that software, Nexus Xtreme. Or was that Winstep Ultimate? ...WorkSTART? Something like that. :P

Anyway, go wash your mouth, you said a bad word and this is a family forum. Think of the children! 8)
