Hello, I've recently purchased Nexus Ultimate and I've got a couple of problems, not show-stoppers but worth signaling nonetheless.

I'm on W7 64bit, I'm using a single dock with sub-docks, configured to behave as a normal window (so neither on top nor on bottom).

First glitch: sometimes the icon text in my sub-docks doesn't show up. This is quite rare, and I still haven't been able to find a pattern to it. I open a sub-dock, there's no text beside the icon. Then I click on another sub-dock and the text is there, and then it's there for the previous sub-dock too.

Second glitch: if I click on the show desktop button on the lower right, then open a sub-dock and then click on the desktop, the taskbar and windows gadgets disappear. Only the desktop and the dock with opened sub-dock remain. I have to alt-tab or launch an application and then everything is back to normal.

Third glitch: the sub-docks are slightly bigger than the main dock, so they overflow above or below the systray (sometimes they're above, sometimes below).
Let me show you an image of this one:

See the lowest icon, partially hidden by the tray? If they were always above the tray, it would be no problem.

Obviously some or all of these may depend on my ignorance of some of the zillion options you can find in this software.

I think I must say that your work is incredible, I'm an aesthetics slut and this software is one of the best things ever to crash on my desktop. Thanks.

Ahahah! I had to laugh over this one - did it? Crash, that is...

Ouch. Never heard about this one, and, without a pattern, it's going to be very difficult to fix. You're talking about the icon labels, right?

What happens if you move the mouse pointer far away from the sub-dock and then move it over the sub-dock icons again?

Several users have reported this already, but unfortunately I am still unable to reproduce it here. :(

I'll give it another try.

Since you said that the docks are NOT set to always on bottom, that is not the problem (and for next release I made sure that sub-docks of Always-on-Bottom docks do not extend into reserved screen areas, so they're no longer cropped by the taskbar, etc...)

My question is: have you got your sub-docks set to open on mouse over?

Also, is the 'Pop up dock on mouse over' setting enabled (Dock Properties -> Behavior tab -> Advanced button).

Actually it doesn't seem to happen anymore, I've tried many times and it seems fine right now. Yesterday it happened a few times, I'll see if it happens again and check what you suggested.

No, the docks are not set to open on mouse over and the setting 'Pop up dock on mouse over' is disabled. Wouldn't it be possible to include a general option to have sub-docks not extend into reserved areas?

If sub-docks are working properly that isn't necessary - the parent dock is the foreground window and, as such, the sub-dock will open above any other (normal z-order) windows.

There is one situation where such a thing might be necessary, however, and your previous post already made me add that feature to the next release: if the parent dock is set to Always-on-Bottom. In that case sub-docks will automatically respect reserved areas (i.e.; they will in the next release).

Now, if the sub-dock is NOT set to open on mouse over, I'm not sure what might be happening in there, since clicking the parent dock to open the sub-dock automatically makes it, and the sub-dock by inheritance, the foreground window.

...unless, of course, your windows taskbar is set to Always-on-Top.

The taskbar is blocked (I'm translating from Italian, so I hope that's the word used in the English version), I don't know if that's equivalent to always on top, but yes, the behavior is just like always on top. That's another instance where the option you've added would come in handy, because in this case the bar is usually over the sub-dock (not always, though: after clicking that damn show desktop button it is under it).

Oh, I had the non-appearing icon labels problem again, I did as you said, moved the mouse away and back, and the text appeared.

Based on your findings, I've changed the code so that sub-docks will always respect reserved screen space on the next release.

No idea about the icon label problem, though, sorry.

Oh don't worry, it's so rare I don't even take notice. Glad you implemented this feature!

So the latest patches fixed all the problems, thanks!

Only similar problem I still have:

if I click on the show desktop button on the lower right, then click on any windows gadget and then on the desktop, all the gadgets disappear, the taskbar disappears and only the nexus dock remains.

Not a big hassle though.
