When I start let's say word and excel via start menu, switching between
them is possible.
When I start word and excel using dock on the screen edge, switching
between them is not possible - always last one started appears on the screen.
If any other application is started before, this application is also
not available - only last one started via dock is visible.

My system is XP Pro SP3.

Best regards
William

Additional info - the similar situation is with any other applications -
let's say Adobe Reader X and Firefox 11 or Pain Shop Pro.

But this behaviour is only when I use full screen mode of applications.
When I use applications set to smaller window, everything is OK.

Best regards
William

I'm not exactly sure what problem you're trying to describe. Perhaps a screenshot would help?

Thanks and best regards,

I will try my best

Please imagine - three items on the dock - Word, Excel, PSP.
All applications are used full screen mode.
I'm using mouse (normal PS/2) to start Word.
Word is opened in full screen mode.
Next I started Excel.
Excel is opened in full screen mode.
Of course, only last started/opened application is visible
on the screen.
Of course, both applications buttons are visible on task bar.
When I click Word button on taskbar, there is no reaction - only
Excel (last application started using Nexus dock) is visible.
Always only last started application is visible.
When I start Word, Excel and PSP, only PSP is visible.
Always only last application.
When I use Alt + Tab switching is possible, but there is no fast
switching between applications, but rather slow.

Best regards
William

I forget to mention.

When I start application using start menu, everything is OK.
Switching between application using task bar is flawless.

Best regards
William

Well, I must confess I never heard of anything like this. There is no difference between launching an application via the Windows Start Menu and Nexus.

If you *right click* the button in the Windows taskbar of the other application, do you get the Restore/Minimize/Close/etc context menu?

Also, what version of Nexus are you running?

I have to confess I'm a bit stumped: I never heard of such a problem before and at the moment I have no clue as to what might be possibly causing it.

Only advice I can give at this time is for you to download and install the beta of v12.2 from HERE and see if the problem magically goes away (I doubt it, but it doesn't hurt to try).

Please let me know the results.

Ah, something else you can try: set the dock to display the currently running applications (Nexus Preferences -> Content -> Show running applications in this dock), see if you can switch applications through the dock instead of the Windows taskbar, then let me know, please.

I install 12.2 - result is the same.

Switching applications through the dock instead of the Windows taskbar
is not possible.

Always, first switching must be done using Alt + Tab sequence.
After that, also swithing via taskbar becomes possible.

Best regards.
William.

One more observation.
When I try to switch applications (started via Nexus Dock) using taskbar,
this is basically not possible.
But, when after clicking application button on taskbar, I press Alt key,
switching will be done after a while.

So, after this observation, I realize, that something is wrong between
keyboard driver (I'm using Microsoft's own Polish (programmer) driver)
and Nexus Dock.
To be sure, I change keyboard to US English.

After this change, everything is working perfectly.

But this is not only keyboard driver problem, but also Nexus Dock,
because when I start applications using usual Start Menu method,
switching is possible nevertheless of installed keyboard driver.

P.S. Once more I would like to admit, that problems are only
with applications in full screen (maximized) mode.
Applications working in window mode are subject to switching
without any problem.

Best regards
William

There was a promotion of Nexus on a Polish IT magazine some time ago and nobody reported a problem.

Have you already tried installing Nexus on a friend's computer and see if the problem persists there? My only guess is that this is something specific to your system, sorry...

Most probabely, you are right, but my system is absolutely standard:
MB: MSI G41-P25 (build-in G41 Graphic),
RAM: Kingston 2 GB DDR3
HDD: SEAGATE 500 GB Serial ATA
DVD: Lite-ON iHAS124 Serial ATA
OS: Windows XP Pro SP3 with all updates
Drivers: Latest from MSI page

My problem with Nexus Dock are not terrible (it is possible
to live with them) and, of course this is not a reason to uninstall
Nexus.
My thread shall be treated as description of interesting anomalty
rather than description of big error.

Best regards
William

Well, lets wait and see if someone else also comes up suffering from this same problem.

It could also be some kind of weird interaction between specific software installed in your PC, by the way.
