Bored today, so I decided to change my wallpaper to improve the way I see Winstep and make it always visible to the max. I also have very little to nothing on my desktop, only temporary saves etc. So, I created a template in Photoshop, with plain colours under Winstep and a contrasting strip for where my desktop stuff goes. I can easily put any chosen wallpaper on a layer, fit it to the template, and change background colours to suit. Thought a few others might like the concept if not my very minimalist layout.

BTW a Windows hint not everyone is aware of - to change the size of your desktop icons, whatever they are, just use Ctl+Scroll up or down.

Hoods, not a bad thread idea posting the different ways people use the winstep applications and their desktop. this will give others ideas on what is possible. in my case nrxtstart top, nexus right side, workshelf bottom all activated with an edge bump. modules turned off. workshelf: the only default item is the desktop, the rest replaced with various folders and a computer tab. nexus: recycler, documents, administrative tools, computer, outlook, ie, firefox, a shared folder, desktop downloads folder, and lastly desktop shortcuts. xtreme set to never change my background, desktop icons hidden.

A while back there was a thread where people posted their desktops - it might still be there, but I didn't see it if it is. Amazing how we all have things so different. I have more than enough room on a 24" screen to have everything showing, and found that bumping edges bugged me. What's great is that Winstep is so brilliantly configurable that we can all do our own thing!

yeah agree 200% with you. however i'm very greedy with my screen real estate. even on a 24" monitor myself and i still have to have everything hidden. lol
