 Post subject: Nexus Ultimate Subscription Reminder

Ever since the 25th I've been getting this annoying pop-up each time I start my machine. I select "never" for the reminder interval and then click on the "remind me later" button (there's only two options, renew and remind me later) but it still comes back the next day! How can I get rid of this? It's really not helping me feel like renewing I can tell you that... I've searched for an obvious file/.exe that I would associate with this but haven't seen one that looks like it is related to it. Thanks for any help you can give.

I was hoping someone might have a suggestion to help me here. I still haven't found a solution and am wondering if it's because I also bought WinStep Extreme at a later time and somehow the two are interfering with each other? I've tried everything I can think of, like deactivating my firewall/antivirus and then clicking on "never" for the remind me later option but it doesn't work. I've also deactivated UAC protection and it's the same. I can't find an .ini file to edit and am wondering if it's just hard coded into the exe and I'm stuck forever with this daily reminder until I uninstall the software, which I don't want to do as I like Nexus Ultimate and Nexus Start to some degree though I don't use the workshelf at all. I've also looked in the preferences for a way to tell it to stop in there but can't find one. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks. I have also emailed tech support but have not heard back from them yet.

If you select 'Never', you shouldn't be bothered again until you install a new version. Not saying that there isn't a bug in there, but, if there is, it sure wasn't intentional.

What happens if instead of 'Never' you select Remind me again in '2 weeks'?

Apologies! I was waiting for email notification that I received a response and never got one so I didn't know you have responded until I came on here to search again for a possible solution. Sorry! I've tried the 2 weeks option and it doesn't take either. Every single time I reboot I get the notification. This is true for two different computers so it appears it has nothing to do with the computer setup as they are quite different.

I am having a similar problem with Ultimate since 7/28. Suddenly, my registered copy of Ultimate turned into a trial version and I get the warning popup every time it runs. I have uninstalled the program with Revo, reinstalled and reran a clean copy of nexus.wsxkey, all to no avail. I have sent several emails to Support about it but have yet to receive a reply or even an acknowledgement that my emails have been received.

To add insult to injury, my Weather module has just stopped working and the Winstep update manager doesn't work either. I went through a similiar round of problems like this last year, and with Jorge's help I resolved them. I tried all the steps we tried last November, but nothing has helped.

No viruses, no firewall issues, I never mess with Registry "cleaners". I just rebooted, and from that point on I have been getting the Trial copy dialog box.

I would even purchase another license if I had confidence that Ultimate would return to normal behaviour.

I am sure everyone at Winstep is busy, but a simple email saying "We hear you and will get back to you would sure make me feel better.

My problem with Weather and the Update Manager is a red herring. In trying to characterize the corrupt key problem I accidentally loaded an earlier version of Ultimate.

I reinstalled Ultimate using the link from my original license email and used the keymaker attachment. Weather, the clock and the updater connect properly now.

Unfortunately, the app still says the key file is corrupt, etc. I am almost out of trial days so I hope this issue can be resolved soon.

As before, I am happy to help with the process of running this problem to ground. Just let me know.

Wow, sorry to hear about your issue! Makes mine seem insignificant in comparison. Like you, I've never received any response to my various emails from two different accounts so I have no idea what's going on. Hopefully you'll get it sorted out soon and before your "trial" subscription runs out! Also, if you don't mind, if you some how figure out what's going on I'd appreciate hearing about it here just in case it can help with my issue, too. Thanks.

But you did. Late as hell, but it's here.

I think I have identified why this is happening. That being so, it will be fixed in the next release - in my defense this is a bug and was not something made on purpose, sorry... :cry:

Carl, please send me a PM with the email you used when you registered Nexus Ultimate and I'll send you a new license key to see if that solves the problem.

that means the only way I'll have the issue resolved is to buy another license? Not wanting to come across as cheap here, as I do like your products and that's why I've bought them, but times have gotten particularly tough (business is slow and having to help my folks out financially due to medical bills and them being on a fixed income) and I have to be more selective with my money and how I spend it. So I'm hoping there may actually be a patch or file replacement that I can apply, too. Thanks for the response!

My support period has expired and I have not heard anything since Jorge's last post. I did send the registration email as requested (twice), but I haven't received a copy of Nexus.wsxkey to try. I am beginning to wonder if there is a problem with support@winstep email. So I am trying this route:
