I'd like an internal command option to Lock the Workstation under Windows 7.

The 'Fast User Switching' internal command (Shutdown IC group) is equivalent to 'Lock WorkStation'.

had an idea. how about a shelf that only shows tabs, and when you click on a tab that tab expands out like a drawer.

'Drawers' have been in the to-do list for quite some time. They'll probably make their appearance once multiple and vertical Shelves are implemented.

cool, sounds like it's going to be an interesting year for winstep.

now i think it's pretty obvious form many, many, many winstep users including myself that a drawer cannot be a single line of icons when opened. it must be be a users preference of how many icons across and or down a drawer will be.

i just saw this. i really love the idea of a multi-layered dock. personal opinion only, but i don't see it looking good on the sides or top.

Add features which can affect sub-docks only, docks only and both.

Basicly what I would like to do is that I can change sub-docks effects, icon size, theme (including colorize background) etc. separately, so It will not affect all the main docks. Then I could customize sub-docks and docks separately.

One capability I would like to see all software have and that is the ability to move default folders to a drive/partition of my choosing. With the bitmap tile pack installed, nearly 90M of disk space on my drive C: is taken up by Nexus Xtreme (and I have the application itself installed on my D: drive). I would like to be able to relocate some of the items (mainly themes/bitmaps, etc.) to another folder on a different partition.

Secondly, I wholeheartedly support the idea of moving Nexus data out of the Registry and into .ini files. If it were just a couple of entries, it would be one thing. But thousands of registry hits are returned based on a search of the term 'Winstep' alone.

Thanks.

Ear candy.

Not only choose the icon, but also a sound (e.g. .wav file).
This wav file should play at mouseover (not all the time). Like with a PNG strip which starts to animate at mouseover, when the 'Only animate on mouseover' option is set, the wav file should also start to play at mouseover. Would be very nice if the start of visual and sound animation are synchronised (i.e. sound starts at the same time as the animation).

Have several PNG strips for which I could use this feature (like a dog starting to bark at mouseover).

a choice between wav and mp3 would be better. mp3's are far smaller than wav's.

Need the ability to drag the taskbar off the screen, as it used to be in NS2.81

I understand that some users prefer to make sure that it stays within the screen, but it should not be difficult to add an option that would disable the functionality that bumps the taskbar back to the edge of the screen and adds the arrows if the taskbar has too many icons.

I would love to be able to grow it indefinitely and drag it wherever I please.

jorge the option to save startmenu organizers backup to users choice of locations would be nice. i'm rebuilding my startmenu because of a hiccup and do not have the option of choosing the location for the backup of the current startmenu layout.

Is there a way to hide the splash notification that appears when nexstart is loading? ("Please wait" thing). I dont want it to be thrown at my face everytime i log in :)

I dont see an option to disable it, or did i miss it somewhere?

good point, almost all software gives you the option of disabling their splash screen.

That option exists in WorkShelf and works for WorkShelf, but, somehow, I forgot to add it to NextSTART (functionality *and* setting). Fixed that for next release - till then there isn't anything you can do, sorry.

So is there a date when this new version will come out? Or are you waiting for more exciting features to update the program?

Hi Jorge. I guess this is somewhat of a wishlist question. On the Nexus Dock page there is a screenshot with a background named nexushut.jpg. Is this part of an actual theme & if so what is the theme, author's name and where is it available. Thanks!

Hey mate. You can find the photo here: iStockPhoto
but if you search a bit, I'm sure you'll be able to find it elsewhere too. ;)
Cheers!
