Lost again.

I think that's what it is. Belongs to NextSTART anyway.
In clicking through looking for how it became visible, I'm not sure if I might have clicked something I shouldn't have.
I would like to have it go away as in Cancel but I'm not seeing anything leading in that direction.
Not sure what to do next either.

Thanks,
Mist

You somehow checked the New Menu box in Hotspots.

To get rid of it: Open NextSTART > Hotspots tab > in the left column uncheck 00-New Menu > Apply > OK.

Also, If checked, you should also uncheck 01-Nextstart in case you need to use that specific activation for something else.

Err, close but no cigar, Windy.

That's a new hotspot button, alright, but all he needs to do is disable or delete the last hotspot (assuming that's the last hotspot he created by accident) in the list of hotspots (Hotspots tab of NextSTART Preferences).

Disabling hotspots 00 and 01 is NOT a good idea, since those hotspots are used by default to activate the main NextSTART menu.

Oh wow! I've had those two disabled since the very beginning. I don't want that Hotspot button displayed on my Desktop so that's the only way I know how to remove it. Is there a better way to remove it?

Besides that, I use the top left corner bump for another function so I had to disable/uncheck 01. At the time being new to Xtreme it took me a little while to figure out that I had to uncheck it and then create a new Hotspot with the top left corner activation command. Obviously you can't have two Hotspots with the same bump activation command.

I need and use all of the available Hotspot bump activation commands.

BTW, as far as I know, I haven't experienced any problems by unchecking 00 and 01. I also set up several friends Hotspots the same way that purchased Xtreme. I guess your program is more stable than you thought. :)

The offender is NextSTART 0.
I'd put in 4 Hotspots of my own before I noticed it and posted here.

If I diabled, not delete, it, like Windy, if its not something I need, would that work?

What's the proper solution?

Mist

You're not using the NextSTART taskbar then... in that case, disable it but don't delete it. If something stops working, you can always re-enable it again.

Okay cool. Just for clarification, are you saying if someone has the NextSTART taskbar enabled it will or might cause a problem? I assume you remember I use the Windows taskbar because of the clock program I use.

After reading your post I perused the features via the NextSTART Menu-01 in Hotspots. It's pretty cool. I vaguely remember it. It's because my main concern was to use that default command for something else which is more important to me since I knew I wouldn't use that Menu nearly as much as opening the folder I assigned.

I decided to change 00 and 01 to so they activate by Hotkey Only, assigning them Hotkeys.

To whomever needs directions: Open NextSTART > Hotspots tab > in the left column uncheck 00-New Menu and/or 01-NextSTART. Highlight which ever one you choose then click Edit.

Under the heading: How do you wnat to do it?, click the pull-down and change it to Hotkey Only, then underneath that change the Hotkey assignment to what you want. > Next > you can fiddle around, or Next > There are more options such as Always keep this menu above other windows, and at the bottom pull-down, Keep all menus open. I use both of those options. Then click Finish.

Go back to where you started making sure the changes are visible under Activated by: and Hot key: > Apply > OK.

Not at all. By default, the main NextSTART menu is assigned to Hotspots 00 and 01. Hotspot 00 activation is set up as a 'Hotspot button on the Desktop', hotspot 01 as a top left corner bump. Both hotspots show the same menu.

Because hotspot 00 is also assigned/associated to the Start Button in the NextSTART taskbar (you can change/select which hotspot is associated to the Start Button), when the NextSTART taskbar is visible the button on the desktop does not show (by design). If you run an old NextSTART theme without a taskbar, since no Start Button is visible, hotspot 0 thus becomes available and visible as a 'hotspot button on the desktop'.

That's just the way it works. :D
