I don't have the time nor the disposition to engage in petty disputes started by insecure types wishing to pull rank on ill defined grounds that may not apply.

The unpleasant truth is that we can't do much about Jorge being away and all that, but I'd expect a certain level of maturity and responsibility during these difficult times.

skagon and i have sent a few pm's back and fourth in regards to the situation/mess jorge has left. first it's been over a year since i new version and the skin creator were promised. second even before jorge's big disappearance he expected those of us here to help other members, not once were any of us asked. third and lastly i'm of the impression that jorge or someone close to him has taken gravely sick. it would go a very long way in explain erratic appearances, and now the complete disappearance of jorge. so with that said as i told skagon i'll give gorge till the end of june before completely giving up on him and winstep. if it comes to it i'll simply port to rainmeter. http://rainmeter.net/cms/

i hate to see the end of developement for winstep, but alas i do believe we are there.

We can only pray for June.

nornally i am not this rude, but in your case i will make a exception especially since i know for a fact jorge and others have told you basically the same thing just in a nicer way, and that is

Although I have been a member of this forum since June 2007 and have visited nearly everyday, I have made less than 100 posts during the period, the quintessential definition of a lurker.

That said, I think it's important, from my perspective to make a couple points:

1. The quality of one's posts, as well as the subjective value of one's opinion, should never be based on length of membership or post count. I have seen far too many forum "veterans" (lengthy membership, high post count), across myriad forums, make absolutely worthless and juvenile posts. I have also seen "rookies" (new members, low post count) make highly cogent and valid arguments. I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE every member to evaluate a post based on its content, not the author's membership time or posting frequency.

2. For nearly a year, I have received this notification on a recurring basis:



At every reminder, I have simply selected "Remind me again in 2 weeks" as a means to keep Winstep on my radar in hopes Jorge would re-engage with a reason to continue supporting through subscription renewal. Unfortunately, this last two years has shown little, if any, progress. And the last year? Near total disengagement on Jorge's behalf, for whatever reason.

Although Winstep has been a fundamental part of my system for the last six years, and will continue to be so as long as it adds value to my PC experience, I set the reminder to "Never" and will no longer support as a subscribing customer.

I will continue to lurk and hope Jorge returns reinvigorated. If so, I will be more than happy to once again subscribe. If not, I appreciate having found Winstep and made it a part of my system, but will move on because, quite frankly, it's just not that important to me.
