On my windows quick launch bar I had to icons, one that restarted windows (C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe -r -t 00) and the other that shutdown windows (C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe -s -t 00) but it doesn't work on the nextstart launch bar for some reason. I get "windows cannot find C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe -r -t 00. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and try again".
It works as an icon on my desktop and windows quicklaunch, just not on nextstart quicklaunch.
If I try moving the icon from desktop to nextstop quicklaunch it removes the "-r -t 00 after the shutdoen.exe" so I added it with editing it after I moved it in and still don't work.
I'm using windows 7. I put a screenshot of it. left one doesn't work, right one does.

Ok, see that 'Arguments' field in the Hotspot Properties Editor dialog box at the left?

If you move '-r -t 00' arguments from the Filename field into the Arguments field, the quick launch button will now work as intended.

Separating a file name from it's arguments as it's done in Winstep applications prevents a ton of confusion and having to use double quotes etc to separate application filenames from their arguments.

Anyway, start looking into Winstep internal commands too. There are over 80 of them, including a few that you can use to shutdown and restart your system, log-off, power off the monitor, start the screen saver, etc...
