I have Ultimate 15.7 and have enjoyed using it every day. I would like to update to the latest Ultimate version. Can I simply (and reliably) install the new version over the old? Will all my docks and shelves be preserved?

Yes, or let the Winstep Update Manager do it for you (but you must turn it on first in Preferences, of course), it will choose the appropriate version for you (i.e.; the smaller update file or the full install) and also automatically backup the previous version's executable files just in case you want to roll back later.

In this case, since v15.7 is nearly a year old, it will automatically download the full version and install it on top.

Just make sure your 1 year period of free upgrades still covers the latest version (v16.6).

If you want to be absolutely safe, just make a backup of your settings first (Preferences -> Advanced -> Backup).
