I am interested in creating a Dock that would be a series of buttons each set to turn on/off the showing of a specific desktop module. This would allow the user to keep the desktop relatively clear and only show the module quickly when needed. To do this right would require several features, none of which I have found yet. Are any of the following available:

1. Show/hide toggle for a specific desktop module
2. Show OR hide a specific desktop module
3. Performing multiple internal commands with a single hotspot

Next question, regarding the Weather Module: is there any way to get access to the future forecast information shown in the tooltip for display in a custom skin?

Having internal commands (IC's) to deal with toggling desktop modules is actually a nice idea, one that could even be implemented in about 10 minutes. The main problem is that each of these ICs would need a corresponding icon, one that is not confused with the corresponding in-shelf/in-dock module.

One question: you are aware that you already have a single IC to toggle all modules being used in and out of view, no (Show/Hide Desktop Modules)? You can associate a hot key to this IC and toggle them all with a single key press.

Regarding point 3, I don't expect that to be implemented soon, since it would require some major changes to the code and interface.

As for the Weather Module displaying the weather preview info in the module itself, that has already been added for the next release. Hopefuly a new beta should be out at the end of this week, and you can play with that.

Good comments, Jorge. Here are some further thoughts on this stuff:

As for icons for individual on/off, I suggest using the same basic icons as you already use, however add an indication of "show", "hide", or "toggle" for each one. As a simplistic example, an up-arrow might mean "open", a red "X" might mean close, and an up-arrow with a red "X" underneath might be toggle.

For the time being, I am using the global show/hide of all desktop modules. That means I have to spread my skinned versions out with no overlap to see them all. Individual toggles would allow me to overlap them so I need less screen real estate.

As far as multiple commands on a hot spot without too much work, how about this idea: create a new hot-spot action "Hot Spot Sequence". Then allow the user to type in a series of hot-spot numbers separated by spaces. This action would then do the corresponding action of the associated hot spots, in the order listed.
