So, when you open Dock Properties, you get this giant yellow arrow pointing to the dock. The thing just annoys the crap out of me, no idea why it just does. Is there any way of getting rid of that?

Anyway, no, not as far as I'm aware. Its purpose is to point out the dock that is being dealt with, in case there should be more than one dock. Maybe this should be added to the Winstep Wishlist - annoys me too actually, it should only be an option I think.

Not necessarily, 'so' can be used as an indication of the beginning of something, in this case the story of what is wrong. I admit that it is usually used to indicate that what you are about to say is separate from whatever was discussed before. Using in this manner is very common, at least in my part of the country. It is not "bad English." I'm a native English speaker with a BA, an MA and have 3 and a half years towards my PhD.

Yeah, I know the standards of 'good and proper English' have pretty much gone to the dogs. In my book, in this case 'so' was totally superfluous and inappropriate, it's an American street language 'import' that irritates the hell out of me - much more so than that yellow arrow, actually. The superfluous use of 'so' has acquired epidemic proportions, alas, just like 'like'. And I won't bore you with my academic qualifications, safe to say I went to Oxbridge - i.e., both.
