As mentioned briefly somewhere a little farther upwards.... I decided to fix the themes I did around ten years ago that really needed fixing for whatever reason - either they were sloppy, not clean enough or fast enough etc etc...

I made a Monty Python FAN theme and it's pretty much done. I have to redo the bg of the menu unfortunately. I like keeping the single tier on this menu. The images are fine on the menu they're vectors, but the sky isn't, plus I have to give the rabbit the same edge treatment that I gave every other image... So when I fix the menu I will upload it. I gave the nod to most of their most famous films in one way or another except Life of Brian which is the other reason I have paused. A drawn Erik The Viking pops his head up when the Workshelf opens. It's pretty much done bar tweaking.

@ BassdudeNZ you have skills man - really good work!

Thanks very much. :)
Now I am wayyyy... older since I first tried to do a theme, I have more time and I think like any of us, the more we work at something, the better we get at it.

@ NEXTER - thanks for the affirmation - I started to think I was alone with not being able to do decent dragon scales quickly

Any kind of scales can be problematic, but those big scales people seem to expect on a dragon are a real PITA. ;) I wouldn't even like to try now. In fact, 3d is completely out here now in my old age, apart from minor stuff with simple wire frames, nothing complicated. :D

Well done! :)

Life of Brian's still my favourite of the movies. "Blessed are the cheese makers for they shall inherit the earth!" ;) :P Just love the way it extracted the urine from all that stuff. ;)

I will be uploading the two Aquariums in the coming days with this one of the Solar system that has been on the backburner for a long time.
I wish I knew exactly what I did differently in this one because the menus are fast or if it is Jorge's recent update? But this is regardless noticeably faster than some others I have done.

Also @ NEXTER - It is a little bulkier but I cannot make it much smaller to get the Brian in there. It was difficult working out which of so many skits would be the easiest to recreate.

Maybe you just changed the menu opening animation timings?

NextSTART Preferences -> Sounds & Animations tab -> How fast do you want animations to be.

Normally the slider is in the middle.

You could well be correct. The issue is I cannot remember (Facepalm)

Wanda has someplace to swim!

Maybe it's something strange happening on my system, but when I install most of your themes a folder inside the first folder (with the same name) is created. I have to cut the second folder and paste it in the same folder (Themes) as the first folder to be able to use the theme. It did not happen with all of your themes though. I don't remember which ones worked ok, but Trains might have been one of them. It only seems to happen with your themes.

I am using an older version of Winstep Xtreme, 24.4 on Windows 10 if that helps.

Thank you for sharing your great themes. I had lost interest in themes, but I am now enjoying them again. :D

Another very original idea and theme. Very nice. :D Just one thing - you forgot the (Yankee accent) rings around Ur-anus! ;) :P

Yeah, I can well imagine what a job it must have been! Kudos for an imaginative, original theme. :D

N.B. - Phew, what a relief to see a new post here! I thought I'd missed some sort of lethal global pandemic and everyone had died, littering up the planet. :P (Been horribly busy here with pocketmoney stuff and a deadline to meet (Monday!), and more besides.)

Thanks Kind sir..

I worked out a good way how to get my CPU, RAM and Net meters going nuts so I can check the meters in the themes that have them.. lol...

I obviously have collected a lot of music in 50yrs... I converted most of tapes, LP's etc to Digital audio... Copying 300+GB in one folder of audio from the computer to a different drive on the same network/different computer ;) - works every time, the meters go nuts. I just delete the duplicate folder once done.

You being a a Laptop user, perhaps you might know a way to fool the UPS/Battery module into reading my power as a battery? It doesn't matter that it's guaranteed to read 100% - I am sick of seeing the '0' and No battery all of the time. I have no idea what it is supposed to look like - So you being a laptop user, if I messed up, I apologise.

EDIT to the last paragraph: The most common way seems to be with a Desktop is with a smart UPS. It's a dodgy way to do it because of ACPI but I think you can fool Windows to think it's running on a battery as long as the main power outlet is turned off...not to mention the UPS will be squealing its head off... (Facepalm).

300+GB's not hard to imagine! I've accumulated a heck of a lot of music myself over the years, original CDs and cassette and vinyl conversions, all in 48-bit wav form, probably close to a TB. All arranged as a kind of juke box. :) As for speed, with a 10Gb Lan and SSD drives (esp. NVMe ones) you'd be done in seconds, a minute or so tops. (Not that I have these myself incidentally. But even SATA SSD drives are amazingly fast. Leave my HDDs eating dust! ;) )

Not exclusively laptop user actually. I've got two desktops as well, one ancient (with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 - yep, the original 1st proper 64-bit CPU for PCs - and still working pretty well, and a more recent one where I got the hardware from a friend's small office server that was being replaced - Threadripper 12 or 16 core (don't remember now) generation 6 IIR, great Asus Mobo, 128GB DDR 4, 1300W PSU, etc. (sold the CPU, half the RAM, and the PSU, downgraded to a Ryzen 8 core, 600W PSU - all more than adequate for what I use it for). (Mainly for scanning transparencies - anything from 35mm to 10x8in. - in ultra-HD, files going into up to 10s of GBs ea., the equivalent of Giga Pixels if not Tera Pixels. Incomparable image quality. 'Old Skool' film rules and leaves my digital camera, well, eating detritus! ;) )

Anyway, regardless of laptop user or not, making the battery mod (strictly speaking, UPS mod, recognise your power supply, no, I'm afraid no idea but I doubt it can be done. However, it would recognise an UPS unit attached to your system/s and display the appropriate info.

Thanks Nexter..

I have deleted 'Foundation" from the themes gallery. - Minor fixes done and shown below including tiling, centering Date title & arrows on Calendar (not shown) and more.
As I mentioned to Jorge, just because I give it away does not mean I should not take pride in the work attempts. Growing up, it was called a work ethic I believe?

I found I had unknowingly left the default 'tile' on the Workshelf and it also gave me an opportunity to do a better clock which I have.

I will upload in the next day or so. :)
Cheers

OK have been a little busy finishing everything in themes I said I would. I lost KATZ from a dumb deletion by myself but fortunately kept some of the image drafts...It's important because we have three cats at home...trivially, The Burmese representing the recycle, is asleep on empty and wakes in shock when you delete something. just a rebuild - only alignments. I also have to scale some of the images down in size, especially in robots - as much as I like them, they're too big.

So when I can rather than giving an approximation, because I have alignments and some minor sizing and image issues, I'll have these to upload:

Solar System
Monty Python FAN theme
Foundation fix
KATZ
Dragonmist
Steampunk Air
Robots and
Compartmentalization (old theme fixed to tolerable).

Cheers

My apologies for taking so long to get back to you!

Yes that's interesting. I have created Sub-themes for many of my newer ones. That's unusual. The SubTheme folder should be inside the main folder to work properly. If not, it is not you, it's either something weird happened when it zipped it up or the extraction did not go as it was supposed to is about all I can think of? I only say that because the folder structure I use is the same for consistency and purposes for finding things in every theme.

Thanks very much and i am glad you are enjoying them :)

@ Jorge

I am honoured that you feel several of them are worthy to be out there...
Honestly, in many ways I am kind of glad that they're only available to official Winstep owners and forum members and not strewn all over Stardock, Deviant art and the other hundred's of art sites all over the Internet. Sure I give them away for free in the Gallery and someone can share them, but that's neither here nor there. I'm also attempting to repay your kindness in kind. ;)

I signed the you are free to do whatever you want anyway, so whatever you choose to do with any deemed worthy to package in as the the checkbox demands, is fine. :) If you asked me to pick only one, I'd choose "The Solar System" which will be there soon. The menus are also surprisingly quick.

Cheers
