I know this has been posted a million times but this one is a little different.

So Windows must have rolled out another update because now if I want to drag a Windows App from the shell:appsfolder location, the app appears with a No symbol next to it and I cannot pin it. Very strange...is there a new way to get the app there?

Also, any pre-existing Windows apps that I already put on the bar, launch and work but are no longer appearing with the gold dot below the app once the app is up and running indicating that the app is open. Is there anything I can do to fix that? My example here is AppleMusic as you can see it launches the app but no icon to indicate its running (I tried the trick of the PackageFamilyName and ID after removing the icon and readding it but it acts the same way)

I am on 25.9 and I am running the latest Windows 11

Not seeing any issues here. Are you sure your dock isn't locked? Can you drop Win32 apps into it?

Press WIN+R, then type Winver followed by the ENTER key. What is the complete OS build number?

Mine is 26200.7462, for instance.

Interesting...I didnt know that was a setting. I went through the settings tabs and didnt see anything about unlocking the dock and then I did a right click on a random icon in the dock and I saw the 'Unlock icons' and clicked on it and now its working.

Is that something that got enabled by default at some point because I never even knew that was a thing?

Not by default, but by accident... the option is available in the right click main context menu of Nexus, right below "Enable/Disable Auto-Hide". If you click one when you intend to click the other....

And to make matters worse it is a GLOBAL option, if you are running Nexus Ultimate or Winstep Xtreme it will lock icons across all docks, shelves, drawers, grid stacks, etc

Anyway, because, as luck would have it, this has happened to other users as well (who naturally ended up as confused as you), I've added a warning/confirmation pop up to the next release when that option is selected:

Under the free version of Nexus: "WARNING: Enabling this option will disable drag & drop for adding, rearranging, or removing items in the dock. Are you sure?"

Under Nexus Ultimate/Xtreme: "WARNING: Enabling this option will disable drag & drop for adding, rearranging, or removing items across all docks, shelves, and related components. Are you sure you want to lock icons globally?

Just noticed that the same setting in the Behavior tab of Preferences doesn't fully explain what it does, it only says that it will prevent icons from being accidentally dragged, not that it will also prevent new icons from being added to the dock, so I might add this warning there too.

It's the little things...

EDIT: Ok, added the warning to the settings in Preferences too.
