Hello to the members of this forum,
I just bought a Winstep Nexus Ultimate and recently joined this forum.
Here's my problem:
In my setup, the tablet and a bar are overlapping the top edge of the screen. How can I drag a shortcut into the bar? Currently, the tablet doesn't allow it.
Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Hi!

Can you please post a screenshot? The French to English translation doesn't make it very clear what is happening there... :D

"... doesn't make it very clear..."?! It's a complete ****-up that leaves one questioning the sanity of what's being said, as well as one's own! :P

I think he has a shelf docked to the same edge as a dock (in which case the answer is he shouldn't, but can pull it off using the dock's "offset from edge" setting), but I want to make sure it's that.

He's French and machine translations can make a mess of terms like "shelf" and "dock". He also just started using the application, so give him some slack. :D

Oh I'm happy enough to cut him some slack - it's the imbecilic AI translation I was gunning for. ;) And I'm well aware of how problematic French to English machine translations can be, though the worst is the other way round. That can actually result in some mind-boggling insults!

Admittedly though, the mind now has to boggle over that screenshot. Holy smoke, what a mess! Unbelievable amount of icons. :|

JCSK,

What you are trying to do is basically the same as making two bodies occupy the same physical space - in Sci-fi movies that only results in a huge explosion and both bodies being completely annihilated. :D

With a shelf and a dock what happens is that one ends up obscuring the other. There are only two solutions for this: you either dock one of them to a different edge (for instance, here I have a shelf at the bottom of the screen sitting right above the taskbar, and the dock at the top) OR in the Dock Properties tab you offset the dock from the screen edge in such a way that it does not cover a fully expanded shelf.

But the bottom line is that you should not have a dock and a shelf docked to the same screen edge.

Slight slip of the typing there, Jorge, I'm sure you meant "two identical bodies" [in a parallel quantum universe] - which actually kind of makes sense as of course they would be sharing the same electrons, although it ignores that in the first place it would be impossible to enter a parallel universe. Complicated, huh? Well, I won't pretend to understand quantum theory - only a bloody fool would! ;) If somebody claims to understand it then they definitely don't have the slightest Scooby! [Scooby = rhyming slang, Scooby Doo - clue. :D ]

Bonjour Nexter,

I regret my French is like that of a Spanish cow, having forgotten just about all of it! However, I was nonetheless able to follow the thread without resorting to machine translation, which I don't trust where French is concerned. (I have had quite a few experiences of using that to translate English to French, only to cause no end of mirth to the recipients on account of the very fanciful and rude insults the translation had produced, LOL!)
