This is a beta and MUST be installed ON TOP of a full v26.4 OR LATER installation. Do NOT uninstall anything first, just exit all running Winstep applications and run the beta setup file.

There is no need to backup your settings first, but it does not hurt if you do either.

v26.6 fixes the failure to detect changes to the Recycle Bin after the latest Windows update.

It also adds a Reserved Space Gap setting to the Position tab of Docks, allowing reserved screen space to be slightly expanded or reduced as needed.

The currently selected item in a dock can now be deleted with the DEL key provided the dock has keyboard focus.

Another important addition is that settings are now saved atomically, helping prevent corruption if the application is interrupted while saving.

Under normal circumstances this should never be an issue. The only realistic way it could happen is if the PC is physically powered off at the exact moment the application is writing its settings. A customer recently had this happen to her - the first time I have seen such a case in over 20 years - and unfortunately it caused her to lose all her docks and shelves.

So, even though this was an extremely rare external interruption, I have added another layer of protection to make the settings-saving process more resilient and prevent this type of data loss from happening again.

In Winstep Xtreme has a media player for audio playback. Are you planning to create a common player for video and audio playback?

Had to re-release the update. I'm beginning to look like Microsoft now. :roll:

The addition where settings are now saved atomically, helping prevent corruption if the application is interrupted while saving, had an issue were individual shelf themes were not being saved properly when exiting the application. This did not happen if a global theme was being applied to the shelf, so I never noticed it here.
