Hi All!

This is my first post, and I have a problem. I like the Winstep, but when I using the shelf, its almost always disappear from the screen and there will be a white blank space in the bottom of the screen. I could reach the shelf when I pushing the Restore button in the NextStart menu/Preferences window, but it's not too comfortable.
See the picture:

Sometimes, the taskbar became white as well, the active tasks and the clock is keeping the skin colors, but the start button is disappears. It's happening not too often, but if the problem rises, I couldn't restore the taskbar easily. The only solution which I found that re-applying the skin. I'm using Windows XP SP3. I tried the Winstep 8.9 and 8.11 beta as well, but the problem permanent in both versions.
Thank you for any kinda help in advance, and sorry, but my English is far from perfect (but hopefully understandable).

Bukoba

Woah! Never seen this, or had any reports of something similar to this happening...

That white space... if the shelf were visible, is that where it would be (i.e. same size/location as the white space)?

Also, does anything happen when you mouse over the white space?

Is the shelf collapsed when the white space appears or does the white space appear when the shelf collapses?

Is this a random thing or can you reproduce it 100% of the times?

Hi. So, here are my answers:

>That white space... if the shelf were visible, is that where it would be (i.e. same size/location as the white space)?
The white space's location and size is the same as the shelf exactly.

>Also, does anything happen when you mouse over the white space?
Nothing happens. If I push the key combination assigned to the shelf, the shelf begins to work properly.

>Is the shelf collapsed when the white space appears or does the white space appear when the shelf collapses?
No, there is no connection between the shelf collapse and the white space. I open the shelf, and after a while, the white space appears. I couldn't connect the error to any kind of activity of mine.

>Is this a random thing or can you reproduce it 100% of the times?
I tried it several times, and I could say, I can reproduce it. The thing is simple. I open the shelf, and after a few seconds, the white space appears. So I can reproduce it 100% of the times.

Does it matter which shelf tab you have currently open?

Are you sure it doesn't happen when the shelf collapses automatically (i.e. do you hear the collapse sound just before the shelf turning white)?

Does it happen with any theme or just with that particular theme? Could you please try with different themes?

Hi Jorge!

>Does it matter which shelf tab you have currently open?
It doesn't matter

>Are you sure it doesn't happen when the shelf collapses automatically (i.e. do you hear the collapse sound just before the shelf turning white)?
It seems that the error happens, when the shelf try to collapse.

>Does it happen with any theme or just with that particular theme? Could you please try with different themes?
I tried it with different theme, and it seems, that was the problem. The application works fine with other skin. Thanks for your help!

Glad to know the problem went away with another theme, but that still doesn't explain why it was happening in the first place (it shouldn't).

From the screenshot I see you were using the Eminence wallpaper with the Atmospherica theme, right?

Did you modify the original Atmospherica theme in any way?

If you go back to the Atmospherica theme, does this problem happen again? If so, could you please post a screenshot where I can see the shelf before it collapses and turns white?

Thanks,
