Is it possible to make the Desktop Modules on the Desktop appear with a bump by itself (as a group or individually) while the Browser or folder is open like the Docks? I've tried numerous settings, but at the moment it will only appear when I bump the Top Shelf.

Create a new hotspot in NextSTART, set the activation method (Launch With) to a bump on one of the screen edges/corners, and set the Hotspot Action to 'Internal Command' and 'Show/Hide Desktop Modules'.

Sorry, I don't know what a hotspot is or where or how to make one. I don't see that anywhere. Please instruct me on how to do this. Thanks. :)

1 - Open NextSTART Preferences
2 - Go to the Hotspots Editor tab.
3 - Click on the Add button.
4 - Change 'Left Click on Hotspot button' on the Launch with section to Bump screen <edge/corner>
5 - Change the Hotspot Action to 'Run Internal Command'
6 - Select 'Show/Hide Desktop Modules' from the Command Name section
7 - Press Ok.
8 - Bump the selected screen edge/corner to test.

Thanks, it works except for one little nagging problem. Once you click anywhere on the Browser or folder (while it's open fully so the Top Shelf Menu doesn't show which is the way I set it ), the Desktop Module won't appear with a bump unless I bump either the Top Shelf or a Dock.

If I don't click on anything it works fine. The Browser or folder has to be reopened for it to work without bumping something else. Minimizing won't clear it.

Can you show me a screenshot of your desktop with NextSTART Preferences open on the Hotspots Manager tab *and* the hotspot you added selected?

Thanks,

Not sure if I'm posting the info you asked for, but here it goes.

BTW, can you also tell me how to remove a blank space that I somehow caused to be in my Context Menu? I've pointed it out one of the screenshots.

Any luck with either requests? How do I remove the empty space in the menu that I show above?

Not sure about the bump problem, sorry.

As for the blank space in the menu, that is a menu item separator, you can't remove it. On skins that support separators, it would actually look like a separator, but that theme was made before I added menu item separator support to NextSTART menus. Hope this makes sense.

The above was from earlier in this thread. I was tinkering around and found the solution to my problem.

I right-clicked NeXus >Preferences >Modules tab >selected a module >Advanced >under the heading Desktop Module: used the pull-down arrow and selected Always above other Windows, and >selected a screen edge.

Now I can bump the screen edge to hide the Modules without first un-hiding a Dock. The only thing that does not function now is that unlike the Docks and Workshelf, the Modules can't be hidden by clicking on an empty area on a web page or open folder.

Am I missing something?
