Jorge,

Is the lastest version of Winstep completely compatible with Win 8 Pro 64 bit?

P.S. I have e-mailed you this question, but not sure if you have recieved it.

Regards

Yes it is. There are two things that don't work: Aero Glass blur (background blur of semi-transparent backgrounds) and the 'Show Start Menu' internal command. Both because Microsoft decided to remove the associated code.

Since Aero Blur is now rendered as solid white under Windows 8, until the next release you should disable the Blur feature (which is enabled by default) in the Themes tab of Preferences.

Where is the Show Start Menu that you mention. I have turned off the Blur. Looking forward to update to me Extreme completely 8 compliant. Glad you app works too, didn't want to have to buy someone elses.

Regards.

Actually the Internal Command is simply called 'Start Menu'.

You are aware about the availability of Internal Commands in Winstep applications, right? Those are special commands available in Winstep applications to do special stuff, such as Power Off the monitors, etc...

To add an Internal Command to a dock, for instance, just right click the dock -> Insert New Dock Item -> Internal Command -> (Choose the IC category and the one you want)

Had no idea about Internal Commands. So is what you mentioned something that is ON by default?

Thank you for getting back to so quickly.

Regards.

Sorry, what are you referring to? The Internal Commands?

Yes, Internal Commands. This is an aspect of Winstep I had no idea about. First I have heard of it.

Well, you need to explore some more then! :)

As I said you can add those internal commands to a dock, a 'Regular' tab on the Shelf, or a NextSTART menu by right clicking -> add new item -> 'Internal Command' -> select category and command you want. This will create an entry on the dock/Shelf/menu that, when clicked on, will perform that special action.

Here is a (incomplete) list of Nexus Internal Commands (replace the word 'Nexus' below with 'WorkShelf' for WorkShelf's Internal Commands). Note that some of these commands are dependent on Windows version (i.e.; might not be available on your system).
